Winter Sports are underway!
Winter Sports are underway and you don't want to miss any of the action! Boys and Girls Bowling are off to fantastic starts, Boys and Girls Basketball are improving tremendously each game, Boys and Girls Wrestling hosted another successful tournament with multiple placement wrestlers, Cheerleading has been improving greatly for competition season and is always fantastic at all our winter events!
We also want to congratulate our Fall Sports Athletes who achieved All Conference Recognition from the KRC!

We celebrate Harvard Jr. High's Coin Drive to CASA of McHenry County. As a school, they raised $1,394.54!

Everyday in D50 we practice and utilize our six Portrait of a Graduate Competencies, created by community members, staff and students! They include Adaptability, Collaboration, Communication, Contributor, Critical Learner, Empathy. Our schools are filled with students learning about and practicing those competencies!

#Adaptability at the Jr. High Robotics Team competition! ππ€
The βAmazing Apps Acesβ team competed in the First League Lego Challenge at Rockford Christian School. The mission was to build and code Lego robots to complete obstacle courses. They used their adaptability when faced with challenges on the course.
While in the Innovation Challenge, they presented two of their apps. The apps help elders shop online and artists sell their artwork.Thanks, Mrs. Andolini and Mrs. Iles, for supporting these students!
#Collaboration at Harvard High School's AP Spanish III debate! π€π
Using their Spanish-speaking skills, Mr. Portillo's classes collaborated to present their positions and field questions from the opposing side. Just like a real courtroom, 'judges' Mrs. Avila, Mrs. Bowgren, Mr. Cummins, and Mr. Valdes provided valuable feedback.

A surprise visit for Harvard High School's Life Skills classes from The Grinch! Students practiced their communication skills by asking The Grinch questions like, "What are your Christmas plans?" and "Why aren't you a fan of Christmas?" π€
