Bear Adventures nURSERY, aUTUMN TERM, WEEK 6

This week, we have been reading the lovely story Peace at Last. It is about a bear family, and the daddy bear who finds it hard to get a good night’s sleep.

We read the story together many times as a class. Listening to the story more than once helps children learn new words. We also use props to help act out parts of the story.

At the end of the story, Mr Bear has a nice cup of tea. The children thought he might also like some breakfast! So, we learned how to make jam sandwiches for him.

Talking about the bear family helped the children think about their own families. They drew pictures of the people in their family and told the group who they had drawn.

Another special part of our week was welcoming our first group of parents into the classroom for our Read, Play, Connect session.

Thank you to the parents who came — it was lovely to have you with us! We look forward to welcoming our next group on Tuesday 14th October at 9am. It’s really important for your child’s learning that you read stories with them at home, and these sessions can help you feel confident and supported in doing this. Please keep an eye on Class Dojo for more information.

We’ll finish with some lovely photos of the children learning through play — our favourite way to learn!
