On 11 December 2024, the UHC Compass was officially launched at the webinar "The UHC Compass and Social Participation: Empowering patient organisations to hold governments accountable for universal health coverage".

The UHC Compass has been developed by the Global Patient Think Tank (GPTT) and is hosted by IAPO, the International Alliance of Patients’ Organizations.

IAPO as the UHC Compass host

The International Alliance of Patients' Organizations (IAPO) is a pioneering alliance amplifying the global voice of nearly 300 patient organisations across all disease areas and regions.

As a co-creator of the Compass and a GPPT member, IAPO is uniquely positioned to host the UHC Compass, further expanding its reach to patient organisations worldwide and its powerful network of government and civil society allies.

The Global Patient Think Tank as the UHC Compass co-creator

The Global Patient Think Tank (GPTT), a multinational and diverse group of patient community representatives convened and funded by Roche, was established to ensure the patient community voice is integrated into the universal health coverage (UHC) movement. All GPTT members, external pressure testers, other UHC movement stakeholders, and the Roche project team contributed to this tool, which was realised in its current form through funds from Roche.
