Here are some tips to help you choose the perfect outfit for your photoshoot:
Stay true to your style: Choose outfits that reflect your personality and make you feel confident. Whether you prefer casual or formal attire, make sure it feels authentic to who you are. Solid colors tend to photograph better than busy patterns or bright prints. Neutral tones like white, black, gray, and pastels work well as they won't distract from your face in the photos. It's always a good idea to bring multiple outfits so you have different looks to choose from during the shoot. Make sure each outfit is ironed or steamed beforehand for a polished appearance. Accessories can add a touch of personality and style to your outfit but be cautious not to overdo it. A simple necklace or bracelet can enhance the overall look without being too distracting. If you're shooting outdoors, take into account the surroundings and choose colors that will complement them. For example, if you'll be in a lush green park setting, earthy tones like olive green or tan could work well. Oh and one for the ladies: if you are wearing your hair down, it wouldn’t hurt to bring a hair tie and brush along, just in case it is crazy windy out. Please don’t stick it on your wrist during the photography session you don’t want the black hair tie bracelet in your senior photos!!!
For your session you want to feel confident and relaxed. With your session you want to practice good posture by standing or sitting up straight with your shoulders back to exude confidence. A genuine smile can instantly boost your mood and confidence. Always remember to breath, by inhaling deeply and exhaling slowly you can calm and ease some nerves. Build a rapport with your photographer, trust their direction and dont forget its a team effort if you have suggestions feel free to voice them. They are there to get the very best shot so sometimes your input can make all the difference.
Choosing a location for photoshoot will depend on the desired aesthetic and vibe you want to convey. Whether it's a natural outdoor setting, an urban cityscape, or a studio backdrop, make sure it aligns with your personal style and branding. Don't be afraid to get creative and explore different options that best reflect YOUR personality and vision. Lastly, approach the photoshoot with enthusiasm and a positive attitude. Relax, have fun during the process, and trust in yourself as well as the expertise of your photographer to capture beautiful moments that truly represent YOU at your best.
