Creativity with Adobe Express: A journey. Considering Digital Creativity: What does it mean to have it, use it and encourage it?

Creative tools

I learned how to use some new tools in Adobe Express today. It was an interesting way to learn.

It was fascinating to see how my school team all have different creative profiles. I hope to do a little more reading around these to consider how this information can be used in our roles and partnerships.

We were set a time-based challenge to create 3 postcards. I decided to try to keep it relevant by producing something that I would actually use: a shout out post card that I can print and send home to pupils. I liked the way we were explicitly given a design skill set to target as well as a general brief. I think that definitely helped improve the calibre of what I produced.

I didn't want to just stick our school name on, I decided to integrate our school tagline as this highlights the school values that we as a school are prioritising.

The collaborate and discuss process also allowed me to check in with colleagues to find a workaround to a problem I had: wanting to change the font of one word with the AI generator. A colleague made a suggestion that I tried and it worked. I'm very happy with the result!

I experimented with the 'Guided Instructions' to create a relevant topic-based clip to model for my pupils when they are experimenting with Adobe Express to create their own videos.

One of the examples of a lesson that ties in with the 5 Es of the curriculum. A simple lesson with a dose of mindfulness... a handy one to have in the back pocket!

When creating prompts for AI (or instructions for using AI), using parenthesis to highlight which pieces of information you can tweak to generate new iterations can save a lot of repetitive typing!
