Term 1b, week 5

It’s been another busy week in Year 6 this week. Following on from the drama work we did last week, this week we became Viking warriors aboard our longship ready to launch a raid. We got in formation and chanted as we rowed to our attack destination.
Steph and Kyle from the Newcastle United Foundation visited us again for another STEM session. This week was about binary coding. It’s all to do with 0 and 1. We had to use binary code to create a wreath spelling out the initials NUF…tricky stuff but we managed it! Look at the concentration on some of our faces.
In DT, we continued our textiles work! Check out our back stitch! We stitched our initials on the felt we are using to make our Viking pouches. Some of us demonstrated great resilience and determination to get this done. We had to concentrate hard on what we were doing. Next step, stitch the felt together to create the pouches.
