Looking after our world Week 3

This week in RE, Year 1 have been learning all about how to look after our world. We explored this idea from a new perspective: Humanism. Humanists believe that we should care for the planet and each other, not because of religious teachings, but because it is the right thing to do for the well-being of all living things. We discussed how we can all share these values, whether it's by recycling, being kind to animals, or helping others in our community. To bring this learning to life, we had a special visit from a Humanist who helped us understand this concept even further.

This linked perfectly with our visit from Dogs Trust on the same day! The children learned about how to take care of dogs and be responsible pet owners, reinforcing the idea of showing kindness and care to all living creatures.

In Maths this week we had an exciting Maths Day, where the children put their problem-solving skills to the test to crack a secret code.

To round off the week, we celebrated Comic Relief with a fantastic Talent Show. The performances were brilliant and we were so proud to see some of our Year 1 children crowned as winners!
