'Moustache' setter Yamato dreaming of winning with KEPCO

Korea Electric Power Corporation Yamato poses after an interview at the Korea Electric Power Corporation Training Gymnasium in Uiwang.

KEPCO was the only player in the men's team that picked a setter through the Asian quarter. The hero is Yamato Nakano 25 of Japanese nationality.

KEPCO filled the empty setter spot with Yamato after Ha Seung-woo joined the army and Kim Kwang-guk retired. Kwon Young-min, KEPCO's coach, is also a setter. Yamato's appearance in the offseason is quite impressive. Analysts say he has a wide field of view and is good at reading the opponent's blocker's movements to take away the timing. Amid a series of warm-up matches, volleyball officials are receiving favorable reviews.

"It's been about two months since I came to Korea, and there were good times and bad times, but I'm working hard and adjusting to play well with the players," Yamato said at the Korea Electric Power Corporation's practice center in Uiwang, Gyeonggi Province. "I'm adjusting to Korean volleyball."

Yamato has only played for the Ulfudox in Nagoya, Japan. It is his first time playing overseas. He was not the main setter, and he became one of the reasons he chose a new challenge. Above all, he is a foreign player setter in men's category, which came out for the first time in 15 years since he played for Woori Capital currently Woori Card in the 2009-2010 season.

Yamato said, "I wanted to appeal to the fact that there is such a player. There is a part where such an appeal was not made in Japan. I wanted to feel volleyball abroad. I also wanted to challenge myself because I was curious about what kind of values I had here. My point is my mustache," smiling shyly.

Kwon was also a setter when he was active. It also helps Yamato. "As a setter, the coach can understand what is difficult and psychological aspects of the coach. He also teaches us how to play. I am grateful for that," he said.

Another challenge is communication. Communication with strikers is more important than any other position, but communication with strikers is more important than communication with foreign striker Luis Elian. "Communication is done through interpretation by using gestures and communication with foreign players," Yamato said. "I try to understand each other with teammates. I am learning what I prefer. I am trying to get better."

Yamato has expressed his will to win the title. KEPCO has no experience in winning the title yet. 파워볼사이트  Although the Libero position is considered a weakness, it has the potential to compete with the top ranks. Yamato can become a "puzzle" to complete this. Yamato said, "I haven't felt any team is strong yet. I know our team has never won a championship yet. I think we can experience a championship this time."
