Hello! We made it to the end of a long term - our children have been so fabulous and shown great resilience. Hopefully we've managed a good balance of being festive and still keeping learning as a key focus throughout December - from pantomimes to parties, we've enjoyed some lovely activities.
It has been wonderful to see you at so many of our events, too - thank you for your support! The Christmas fayre this week was really well attended and the school's income was £934.89! This is separate from the PTFA funds - they will update you soon! Thank you for such great support.
Thank you for continuing to support our school and for maintaining attendance - every day really is so important. We enjoyed celebrating attendance at the end of term, and we will continue to support and challenge families who still need to see the importance of children being at school every day, unless they're too unwell to attend. There is such a clear link between attendance and achievement. It is fabulous to see the efforts that so many of you go to - thank you.
Remember that we finish for the Christmas break on Thursday 21st December at 3:15 and re-open on Monday 8th January 2024.
On behalf of everyone at Swinton Queen, I wish you a very happy Christmas and hope that 2024 is a successful one for us all.
This week our Internet Safety Guide from National Online Safety focusses on setting up Parental Controls on new devices. Don't forget that you can talk to us if you're worried about your child's time online.
Please support your children by ensuring they are following the required uniform expectations, including on PE days. Children should be dressed in a yellow or black polo shirt and black trousers, skirt, shorts or plain black leggings. Yellow gingham dresses may also be worn. Black cardigans or hoodies can be worn with or without the school logo. For PE, children need their white school PE top or plain white T-shirt and black shorts or tracksuit bottoms. No football shirts please. Please may we remind you to label your child's uniform with their name.
Thank you for your continued support of our school and for supporting your child by ensuring they're at school on time and they read at least 4 times each week. If you would like to discuss any aspect of your child's time in school you can email enquiries@sqp.wwpat.org, find me on ClassDojo or chat to me at the start or end of the school day.
At Swinton Queen Primary School, children are aspirational, courageous and inquisitive; respectful of all.
