Dear Bluejay Family,

Every Celebration of the Eucharist with our entire school is certainly beautiful. The joy in our students' hearts can be heard each time their lift their voices in praise and song. However, this week’s Mass held even greater significance as we witnessed the baptism of four of our students—along with one future Bluejay—into the Catholic faith. What a powerful reminder this was of God’s constant presence in our lives!

Seeing those young souls welcomed into the Church was an inspiring moment. It is such a blessing that we, as a school community, have this opportunity to gather regularly to celebrate the sacraments and support one another in faith. These shared moments of grace strengthen our community's bonds and remind us of that we are all part of something much larger than ourselves—the Body of Christ.

Grace & Peace,

Erin B. Henry

Principal

"As a body is one though it has many parts, and all the parts of the body, though many, are one body, so also Christ. For in one Spirit we were all baptized into one body...and we were all given to drink of one Spirit." - 1 Corinthians 12:12-13

Dear Bluejay Family,

It was a short week for the Bluejays this week with all of our teams. Volleyball was on the road against Catholic High and St. Michael, while our football boys played Cathedral in the jamboree. The volleyball girls are approaching the midway point of the season. They have taken some bumps and bruises, but will bounce back. They will be tested and ready for the end of the year tournament. Our 7th and 8th grade volleyball girls ended the week by playing in the Cajun Elite Tournament to get some additional court time.

The cross country team was not able to field a team to compete this weekend, but will support the Run the Extra Mile Race by collecting coats and donations for the local homeless. This is a service project by Quinton Foshee, a senior runner at Ascension. The parking proceeds from the race are going to the Lega-C Foundation, in honor of their late coach Celie Ulm.

Our football teams took to the field on Saturday in the annual Christian School League Jamboree at STM. It was great to see the boys play someone with another color uniform since they have been practicing since June! Our 5/6th grade boys fought hard, but came up short. They gave the much larger Cathedral squad a run for their money. They are much improved from last year. The 7/8th grade boys missed a few opportunities, but also showed how hard working Bluejays can be. We were outnumbered on the sidelines, but not outworked. We should all be proud of our football teams and the coaching staff. Special thanks to our cheerleaders for showing school spirit and rooting for our boys!
