Dear Parents and Guardians, Welcome to an exciting new school year! As we begin this journey together, we are dedicated to creating a positive and supportive environment where our core values—safety, respect, and striving to do your best—guide everything we do. At our school, we also focus on being responsible. This means looking after ourselves, our belongings, and the things that belong to others. This means:
- Taking care of our own things and keeping them safe.
- Being careful and respectful with school property and equipment.
- Treating other people’s belongings with kindness and respect, just like we want them to treat ours.
- Helping to keep our school clean and tidy for everyone to enjoy.
By being responsible, we help make our school a happy and safe place for everyone!
Our Four Smaller Stage-Based Classes This year we have four smaller classes organised by learning stages to better support every student’s growth. These stage-based groups allow teachers to focus on the specific needs and abilities of children within each stage. Benefits of Our Stage-Based Classes:
- Personalised Learning: Teaching is tailored to match each child’s development, helping them learn at the right pace.
- Stronger Connections: Smaller classes mean students receive more individual attention and build closer relationships with their teachers and classmates.
- Focused Support: Teachers can identify and support any learning challenges early on.
- Better Collaboration: Students work with peers at similar learning levels, encouraging teamwork and confidence.
By organising our classes this way, we create a supportive and effective learning environment where every child can thrive. These classes will operate on Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday. On Thursdays and Fridays our students will combine into 3 class groups- K/1, 2/3, 4/5/6.
Welcome also to Kindergarten students and families! We are so excited to have you join us for this important milestone in your child's educational journey. The formative years of schooling are a crucial time for learning and growth, and we are here to support both families and children as they take this big step into "big school." We believe that this year will be filled with fun, discovery, and a love for learning that will last a lifetime. Welcome to this exciting adventure!
We are thrilled to welcome our returning staff members to our school community as we begin another exciting school year! This year, Mrs Kirby will be in the office 2 days per week as School Admin Officer and in classrooms one day per week working as an SLSO. We also welcome back Mrs Courtney Stacey, she will be teaching Kindergarten on a Tuesday for the rest of the year to release Mrs Pinchen to do her Assistant Principal Curriculum & Instruction roll. Our dedicated team is committed to providing a nurturing and engaging environment for our students. Each member brings unique skills and experiences that enrich our educational programs and contribute to our vibrant school culture.
A few requests and reminders:
We kindly ask that no food be brought from home for sharing at school, including birthday cakes, candy canes, lollies, and all other foods. This policy helps us maintain a safe and healthy environment for all our students. Ice-block boxes are available for birthdays, as a fundraiser by Year 6. These can be ordered through the school office a couple of days prior to your child’s birthday for $25, payable by cash, card or through SchoolBytes.
We also want to emphasise the importance of representing our school at swimming carnivals and sporting events. These occasions not only showcase our students' talents but also promote teamwork and school spirit. Please note that attendance at school sporting events is reserved for participating students and team members only, not for siblings. Also, if an event is only part of a day, students are expected by the department to return to school for the remainder of the day. Good attendance is crucial, and we encourage all our students to be present and engaged. Above 95% is our expected school attendance.
Thank you for your continued support as we work together to make this school year a successful and fulfilling experience for our students. Let’s make it a fantastic year ahead!
