October 19 - October 25
Winding down in regular season play! Last full week of the regular season with two E8 matchups.
We started our game week with our East Ave rival, Nazareth. This was also our Morgan's Message game. Morgan's Message is an organization that strives to break the stigma surrounding mental health in student-athletes.
On Saturday, we headed to Keuka for our last regular-season away game. We took the W 5-1 and, once again, it was a full team effort. After the game, our players' families held a tailgate with quesadillas, snacks, and desserts. We love our Fisher FH fams!
October 12 - October 18
Two BIG E8 games this week. First up was Utica on Wednesday. Big 4-2 win for us with three different goal scorers. Energy was HIGH and it ended up being a total team effort. This was also our Athlete to Athlete Game which is a campus organization that advocates for student-athlete mental health.
We headed to Hartwick on Saturday for another big game. We didn't come up with the W for this one, but, with the way the rest of the conference played out, we CLINCHED a spot in postseason!
October 5 - October 11
We headed to Alfred on Wednesday for an E8 matchup and a team effort win! Freshman Callie Smith recorded her first 2 collegiate goals! Alfred is the newest school in the conference in their first season as a program!
Friday evening we headed to New Jersey for a non-conference weekend game against Kean. While we didn't walk away with a W, we were able to try new formations, concepts, and personnel as we head further into conference play.
September 28 - October 4
Two BIG games this week. Another Top 25 game with SUNY Geneseo on Wednesday, and a big E8 Conference Game on Saturday against Houghton.
Both games were intense and competitive! We weren't able to walk away with a W on Wednesday, but Saturday's game resulted in a 3-2 OT win. 2 of the goals were scored by Sam Current on penalty strokes and MK McPhee rocketed in a drive for the third. Moving on to next week with a 3-1 record in conference play.
September 21 - September 27
We started this week off nice and strong with our Fall Prospect Clinic. Each of our clinics include a Q&A session with our players and coaches, a meal in the dining hall, a tour of campus, and an on-field session.
Two games this week - Top 25 game against University of Rochester on Wednesday, and an E8 Conference matchup against Elmira on Saturday!
Saturday was a special game because we honored our five seniors! We are so proud of all that they have accomplished both on and off the field, and we can't wait to see where the rest of their journey takes them. Great team win with Emma Muchow and Alison Taplin recording their first collegiate goals!
September 14-September 20
Started this week off strong with a 4-1 win against Marywood. This was a total team effort on and off the field. We are so proud of this performance as it showed us how far we have come in a year. Last season, we lost to Marywood 6-0, so to bounce back and take a solid W feels great.
No mid-week game this week, so we had extra time to prepare for our conference opener against Sage on Saturday. Another W in the books, and our first conference win. Three different goal scorers for our 3-0 win! Avery McLaughlin recorded her first collegiate goal!
September 7 - September 13
We hit the road for a game against SUNY Oswego this week. It was our last mid-week game before we get into conference play, so we used this time to try out some new things. While we could have earned more outcomes throughout the game, it always feels good to walk away with a W. Congrats to Holly Stuart for her first collegiate goal!
August 31 - September 6
Classes are back in session! The team went back to hitting the books this week. We are fortunate to get 2 weeks of just hockey before school starts!
We had our home opener on Saturday vs. Ithaca College. It was also our Alumni Appreciation Game where were able to honor a number of our amazing alumni during the game. The program started in 2015, and we had alumni from each year there with us. It's always special to have the past players meet the current ones.
August 24 - August 30
What a big week! The team headed over to Camp Cory on Keuka Lake for 24 hours of unplugged fun! We had waterfront time, played A LOT of gaga ball, made some s'mores, and tie-dyed some Fisher FH tshirts.
Following Camp Cory, we headed into our second preseason scrimmage against Roberts Wesleyan. We showed up strong for this competition, ended up with the W, and left very proud of the product we put out.
Two days following our scrimmage, we headed to William Smith for our first game of the season. Freshman Teresa Smith earned her first goals of the season AND her collegiate career by scoring two in the first quarter. We fought hard and played together which pushed the game into OT. While the outcome was not what we hoped for, we are so excited about how our first showing went.
August 17 - August 23
WE'RE BACK!!! We had a GREAT first week of practices, and we competed in our first scrimmage against The University of Rochester.
Off the field, we visited Seton Catholic School in Brighton for a community service event. We helped set the building up for the school year and freshened up the playground for the kiddos. It always feels good giving back to Rochester.
We learned a lot about ourselves this week, and, most importantly, we saw the potential that this team can reach.
