Welcome to Maple

"The environment must be rich in motives that lend interest to activity and invite the child to conduct his own experiences"- DR. Maria Montessori

Highlights:-

Welcome back to Bi-weekly Scribble! February went by very fast, and now March is here. Spring has arrived in Michigan, bringing unpredictable weather. The toddlers are excited to learn more about this new season. The beautiful weather gave the toddlers a chance to spend time outside. They really enjoyed the sunshine and fresh air. It was a great time for them to play and explore outdoors. Thank you to everyone who attended the conferences last week. It was wonderful meeting with you and talking about your child’s progress. The connection between home and school is very important, and I truly appreciate your time and support.

Practical Life Skill:-

Practical Life area, we introduced garlic pressing with sponges, rolling and unrolling hand towels, nail polishing, and hair care using a doll head.

Sensorial Area:-

Sensorial area, children practiced arranging dinosaur figures in order from shortest to tallest. Such activity helps them to recognize differences in size.

Math Area:-

Math area, toddler are working on one to one correspondence, patterning, and sequencing.

Language Area:-

Language area, children were introduced to new activities picture-to-picture matching using dinosaur lotto cards.

Science Area:-

This week we talked about different types of dinosaurs. Children learned that dinosaurs were large animals with big heads and sharp teeth. Some dinosaurs were big with long necks, and some were smaller. Some dinosaurs could run very fast on their back legs. The children also enjoyed a fossil dig activity in the sensory table to discover more about dinosaurs. They found it very interesting and are excited to learn more.

Art Area:-

In the art section, we introduced the children to watercolors, which they really enjoyed. Watercolor painting is a fun and engaging activity for children. It helps them develop their fine pinch grip while also allowing them to explore and learn about color mixing.

We hope you will enjoy all the fun activities we are learning and practicing in our classroom.

Thank You!
