  1. Kindergarten Registration Open House: Join us on Saturday, February 7, from 8:00 to 11:00 a.m. for our Kindergarten Registration Open House! Visit www.kaneland.org and click on “Schools” in the top right corner to find your local elementary school. There, you’ll find registration links and additional information to help you get started. Online registration opened on January 19.
  2. Preschool Interest Application Open Soon! The Preschool Interest Application for the 2026-2027 school year will be available on www.kaneland.org beginning February 7, 2026. Key dates to remember: Application Opens: February 7, 2026; Application Deadline: March 13, 2026; Preschool Lottery: March 16, 2026; Parent Confirmation Emails Sent: March 20, 2026. Don’t miss your chance to apply and secure your spot!
  3. Kaneland Spread the Love Food Drive Distribution: It’s quick and easy, just show up and pop your trunk for a pre-packed bag filled with essential items. Where: Harter Middle School When: Thursday, 2/12 | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM and Friday, 2/13 | 4:00 PM – 6:00 PM. A huge thank you to our incredible Kaneland community! We’ll see you there!

Top Things to Know (Repeated Reminders)

1. ACT: On Tuesday, March 24 and Wednesday, March 25, Kaneland High School will be administering this year’s state benchmark tests. As required by the Illinois State Board of Education, students in grade 11 will take the ACT with Writing, students in grade 10 will take the PreACT Secure, and students in grade 9 will take the PreACT 9 Secure. Kaneland Board

The next regular Kaneland Board of Education meeting takes place on Monday, February 9 at 7:00 p.m. at Kaneland Harter Middle School. Education and Human Relations committees will meet at 6:00 p.m. prior to the board meeting. All of these meetings are open to the public. The scheduled Core Planning Committees, comprised of community and staff members have concluded. There will be ongoing feedback meetings as needed. Bid phasing, timeline, and design process information was presented at the Kaneland Board Meeting on January 26, 2026.
