Halloween Party Information

By now you should have received sign up information from your child’s Home Room Class Parent regarding Halloween Parties. If you have signed up to volunteer in the classroom, please make sure you have registered as a Volunteer with PSD:

and have visited the Riffenburgh Main Office to have your Driver’s License scanned before October 31st.

If you are not signed up to Volunteer in the classroom, please note that we are not able to accommodate extra volunteers in the building during the parties. There will be other volunteer party opportunities later in the year. We appreciate your cooperation!

On Tuesday, October 31st, we will have our whole school Halloween Celebration and Parade. Students should come already dressed with their costume on OVER their clothes. They need to be able to take off the costumes after the parade for the remainder of the day. Students can wear masks for the parade. Please do not send any weapons with costumes or have students wear costumes that are overly scary (ie. blood squirting, etc.)

Families may come to view the parade outside the building at 8:30am. The parade usually lasts about 20 minutes

IB Primary Years Program Evaluation Report

For the 22-23 school year, Riffenburgh underwent a rigorous evaluation of our IB program. Our evaluators produced a final report with their findings and we wanted to share some of those findings out to our community! We are highlighting one finding each newsletter. There are several standards of practice that IB looks for when doing an evaluation. Over the next month, we will focus on what they found in the Standard: Environments: Providing essential structures, systems and resources.

Student Support: The school provides relevant human, natural, built and virtual resources to implement its IB program.

  • The school provides resources that are sufficient to sustain the IB program. The PTO has a structure to allow teachers to seek funding directly for their classroom needs.

**Check out more about our IB program through our school website!

Our Book Fair is November 1st, 2nd, and 3rd

The Scholastic Book Fair is coming our way. Choosing their own books empowers kids and inspires them on their journey to becoming lifelong readers. AND, every purchase at the Fair benefits our school.

Before the fair, you can set up eWallet for worry-free, cash-free purchases. Anyone can contribute---you can share your child's eWallet so family and friends can add funds and give your kid more books to enjoy.

We look forward to seeing you at the Book Fair.
