PRINCIPAL'S DESK

Dear Bluejay Family, As we enter the Second Week of Advent, the candles of Hope and Peace glow a little brighter. The Prophecy Candle reminds us of God’s people waiting in hope for the Messiah, while the Bethlehem Candle invites us into the quiet trust of Mary and Joseph’s journey. Today’s Gospel, Matthew 3:1–12, echoes that same call to prepare our hearts with sincerity and readiness. This week’s slightly calmer school calendar offers us a rare December stillness—an Advent gift that invites us to breathe, notice, and wait with expectant hearts. What perfect timing, since tomorrow is the Solemnity of the Immaculate Conception, a Holy Day of Obligation (Please be reminded that we will celebrate Mass together tomorrow instead of Wednesday.). In these quiet moments, we are reminded of Mary, whose yes to God was rooted in deep Hope and unwavering Peace. May her example guide us as we make room for Christ. And at the end of this peaceful week shines a beautiful star: our Live Nativity on Thursday. What a fitting reminder of the humble, holy night we are preparing for. May its simplicity and wonder draw us all closer to the heart of the season. My prayer is that Hope will take root in your homes and that Peace will settle gently into these days. Grace & Peace, Erin B. Henry Principal
