A great 20-minute chat starts before you even sit down. Here’s how to make the most of your time:

  • Check the schedule. Who would you like to meet with?
  • Do a little research. What stands out to you about their work or story?
  • Identify your focus. What questions are top-of-mind for you now?

Examples:

  • “How did you get into this field?”
  • “How can I better position my work to attract new clients?”
  • “What helped you grow your creative confidence and find your niche?”
  • “Can you review my portfolio and give me some tips for improvement?”
  • “How do I move from designer to creative director?”

Pro Tips:

  • Have your materials and questions ready! If you want feedback on your portfolio, bring your device (laptop, tablet, or phone).
  • Jot down key takeaways right after your session. You’ll be surprised how much you can cover in 20 minutes!
  • Pay it forward: hang out in our booth area and share what you learned!
