Healthy Snacks

Everyone at Minera School has worked hard over the last year to encourage children to bring a healthy snack into school for breaktimes. If your child brings snack into school, this can only be fruit, in line with Welsh Government Guidelines - no crisps, cereal bars etc.

Bottles of water can be brought into class but need to be washed every night. Please no juice or flavoured water in their class bottles. Foundation children have a drink of milk provided for them as well. Thank you in advance for support.

Attendance

If your child is off school for any reason could you please let the school office know a reason for their absence.

If your child is absent from school, their absence needs to be reported by ringing 01978 260500 and leaving a message or by emailing, mailbox@mailbox.wrexham.sch.uk

Any absences which are not received by the school office will be recorded as unauthorised.

Half-termly meetings are held with the Wrexham Council attendance officer to look at all absences and reasons given. Attendance is a large focus this year with the Wrexham Council issuing letters for non-attendance. These letters are issued at 10, 16, 22 and 26 sessions of absence, resulting in a meeting with the educational social worker.

Each morning and afternoon is recorded as a session, therefore, there are two sessions in each school day.

These are guidelines set out by Wrexham Council which all schools are expected to follow.
