Back inside Wallace Wade Stadium, Duke scrimmaged for the second time this fall camp, as the Blue Devils gear up to take on Elon on Thursday, August 28.
Darian Mensah continued his strong fall camp, completing 18-23 passes for 232 yards and three touchdowns. He connected with a plethora of receivers and threw touchdowns to Cooper Barkate, Que’Sean Brown and Jeremiah Hasley.
Barkate and Brown led the way with seven catches for 66 yards and five catches for 88 yards, respectively. Hasley added 49 yards on two catches to lead the tight end group.
On the ground, Jaquez Moore found the end zone on an 11-yard run, while Travis Bates led the way with 35 yards on the ground. Nate Sheppard added 31 yards on seven carries of his own.
Defensively, Caleb Weaver’s strong camp continued with four tackles and an interception, while Vontae Floyd and Elliott Schaper each picked off passes. Kendall Johnson added three TFL, including a sack, while Josiah Green, Tyshon Reed, Tommy Rupley and Schaper registered sacks.
Freshmen Bradley Gompers and Will Felder led the defense with six tackles on the night, with Felder adding two tackles for loss.
The Blue Devils head into the last week of fall camp following an off day on Saturday to prepare for the season.
