Welcome
We are so glad you’re here. Rocky Mountain Crisis Partners Connection is our quarterly newsletter dedicated to sharing updates, insights, and stories from across RMCP. As we enter a new chapter focused on community-rooted, trauma-informed care, this space will highlight the programs, partnerships, and people that are shaping our work, like CaringConnect, RMCP Consulting, and our upcoming 3rd Space initiative CommunityConnect. Whether you’re a longtime supporter or new to our mission, we’re excited to keep you connected to the heart of what we do: meeting people where they are, with dignity, trust, and care.
Message from the CEO
Last year, when our contract to provide 14 years of crisis and peer services to Colorado was awarded to another provider, we faced a hard truth and a defining choice: we could quietly wind down or we could rebuild around the gap we know changes lives. We chose to rebuild. We listened to partners, community members, and most importantly, people who have lived through crisis. We examined the evidence. The conclusion was clear: in the hours and weeks after a crisis, connection saves lives. This summer, we relaunched Rocky Mountain Crisis Partners (RMCP) with connection at the center backed by a supportive and progressive Board of Directors who believe in both bold ideas and practical solutions.
What we are building—together
CaringConnect — Because connection is critical.
A trauma-informed, peer-supported follow-up program reaching people within 24–48 hours of discharge and continuing as long as needed. Through caring, consistent outreach, we review safety and discharge plans, reduce barriers, provide emotional and practical support, and link people to resources. CaringConnect ensures no one has to navigate the vulnerable transition after crisis alone, building hope, empowerment, and stability.
ConsultConnect — Your trusted partner for the future.
Drawing on RMCP’s deep operational expertise in crisis systems, we help hospitals, behavioral health providers, collaboratives, employers, and schools design solutions that work in the real world. From executive advising and crisis programming to peer-support integration, contact-center operations, and workforce training, we co-create stronger systems of support and recovery.
3rd Space: CommunityConnect — A place to belong.
Loneliness and isolation are fueling crisis. CommunityConnect is our upstream solution: a welcoming, psychologically safe space where people can gather, build relationships, and practice everyday wellness, investing in belonging so health and hope can take root close to home.
What this means for Colorado?
Over the past 15 years, RMCP answered more than 3 million calls from community members in need. That legacy gives us the perspective—and the responsibility—to re-invest in the communities we live in, support, and know so well.
• Fewer people fall through the cracks after crisis.
• Hospitals and community partners gain a trusted bridge to continued support.
• Teams are trained, and programs are built to last.
• Communities—urban and rural—gain human-centered capacity.
• Belonging is nurtured upstream, reducing risk and strengthening resilience.
Together, we can close the gap after crisis: collaborate on programs that work locally and invest to expand access and impact across Colorado.
Thank you for believing in RMCP, for believing with us that connection changes outcomes, and for standing alongside us in this new era of impact. We step into this chapter with humility, determination, and a clear mission: From Crisis to Connection.
With gratitude and hope -Bev Marquez, CEO
RMCP Board Retreat
RMCP’s Board and staff leadership held a one-day strategy retreat (facilitated by The Nonprofit Strategy Group) to sharpen governance, clarify roles, and define the Board’s future leadership. The session affirmed a clear path to strengthen oversight, deepen community partnerships, and accelerate our relaunch priorities, which are CaringConnect (care-transition follow-up), ConsultConnect and 3rd Space (CommunityConnect). The Board left energized and optimistic about RMCP’s next chapter, united around measurable goals, and a sustainable funding plan to expand post-crisis connection across Colorado.
AFSP Out of the Darkness Walk
RMCP was proud to join the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention (AFSP) Out of the Darkness Denver Walk at Berkeley Park, in Denver CO. Thanks to our staff, board, and friends, we raised $475 for AFSP’s mission, to support research, education, advocacy, and survivor programs. This community walk was a powerful way to honor those we lost, stand with those who were struggling, and strengthen the connections that save lives. Thank you to everyone who walked with Team RMCP and donated.
Conference Season
Our team was fortunate to attend a series of conferences this quarter that focused on learning about Colorado's behavioral health scene and the national behavioral health scene.
Colorado Hospital Association Conference and Annual Meeting
RMCP was grateful for the opportunity to sponsor a booth at the Colorado Hospital Association’s Annual Meeting in Colorado Springs, where we shared CaringConnect, ConsultConnect, and our 3rd Space initiative with hospital and health system leaders from across the state. We loved connecting with hospital executives, physicians, and policymakers and came away with new partnerships and concrete ideas to strengthen programs statewide.
CrisisCon25: Bringing Best Practices Home
Our CEO, Bev Marquez, joined crisis leaders at CrisisCon25 in Indianapolis for 2.5 days of learning, connecting, and growing. The conference convened a full continuum of services, crisis call centers, mobile crisis teams, crisis residential, peer support & respite, psychiatric urgent care, crisis stabilization, and partial hospital programs, to share what is working now and what’s next.
2025 CBHC Behavioral Health Conference
RMCP attended the CBHC Behavioral Health Conference in Breckenridge, CO, where we introduced CaringConnect, ConsultConnect, CommunityConnect and our emerging 3rd Space initiative to providers, partners, and community members statewide. The conference was a powerful chance to connect and collaborate and to grow together as a team, leaving us with new partnerships, practical ideas, and momentum to expand connection in the moments after crisis. We’re grateful for the conversations and excited to keep building partnerships that move people from crisis to connection.
Colorado Organization for Victim Assistance (COVA)
Two of our RMCP team members attended the COVA Conference, Colorado’s premier gathering for victim services, joining 900+ professionals for 2.5 days of keynotes and 80+ workshops. We focused on practice areas that strengthen our work with survivors and families, including advanced and 101 victim advocacy, intimate partner violence, sexual assault, hard-to-reach communities, human trafficking, restorative justice, wellness, and leadership. The takeaways will directly inform CaringConnect follow-up, ConsultConnect trainings with partners, and our 3rd Space approach to reducing isolation and building belonging. We are grateful to COVA for advancing a statewide vision where every survivor is met with compassion, dignity, and effective support.
Technology & Infrastructure Updates
We completed a major infrastructure upgrade, moving from premise-based to cloud telephony for a more flexible, staff-managed contact center. We also began migrating our Electronic Health Record (EHR) platform to a new iteration focused on outbound services (calls, texts, emails), carrying forward key workflows and tracking toward early Q4 completion. In addition, we launched a Board Portal for secure, self-serve access to materials and collaboration; introduced Microsoft Copilot to capture notes, summarize discussions, and assign tasks; and continued enhancing our Client Relationship Management (CRM) tool to strengthen partner tracking and team coordination.
