I would like to acknowledge our JB teachers and staff. Technically, teachers are not back on contract until July 28th. But, our JB teachers have spent countless hours to prepare their classrooms for our JB students. This also comes at a cost, they have spent much of their own money to get items for their classrooms. The heart of a teacher is special, your kids are in the most precious hands!
(reminder) Meet Your Teacher Nights
We are excited for students to come to school, find their classroom, drop off school supplies and say hello to their teacher! Given the size of JB this year, we are staggering our 1st-4th grade times. Please be sure and follow the time of your child's grade level. Also, please limit attendance of this event to JB students and 2 adults. Thanks for you help with this!
(NEW) Transportation Form-important!
Please click on the link below so we can start collecting how students will get home from school each day. This information is IMPERATIVE so we do not have any miscommunication and we can ensure your child gets on their correct mode of transportation home.
(NEW) JBS ARRIVAL AND DISMISSAL
The first week of school arrival and dismissal will take LONG! Please be patient with us as we work out the kinks. Safety will be our number 1 priority; not quickness.
First Day of School:
Parents will not be permitted to walk their to student to class the first day of school. I STRONGLY recommend your child follow their normal arrival/dismissal procedure on the first day of school. For example, if your child is going to ride the bus HOME please have them ride the bus TO school. Dropping students off in the morning, but having them ride the bus home causes major confusion for kids.
Please be sure you communicate with your child's teacher how your student is getting home from school. This is crucial so we get students where they need to go. Many students tend to forget how they are getting home from school. It is also good to talk about this with your student their dismissal plan.
JBS Arrival Procedures
7:30am-7:45am (students arriving after 7:45am will be marked tardy)
Car Riders: A JB Staff member will help your child out of the car in the am. Please plan to have your child on the passenger side of the car; as it is not safe for them to walk between cars. Please do not let your child out of the car until JB staff has come out to release them (at times our buses have to unload earlier than the car riders, please don't take the unloading of buses as a cue to start releasing kids. Please wait for JB staff)
NEW CAR RIDERS: Please see the map below. In order to plan for an increase of car riders, given the size of our building this year, we will need to double up the car rider line. As you near the curve, where the front of the building starts, you will merge into one lane. Please take turns with merging (think crew car wash). There will be cones set out forcing the two lanes to merge.
Bus Riders: Bus riders will be dismissed by JB Staff. We ensure students safely exit the bus and walk into the school building, where they are greeted by more JB staff.
Walk-Ups: If your child requires extra assistance to get out of the car and you choose to park and walk them up to school, please see the map below. This year I am asking parents to walk students across the cross walk (holding hands) and up to the front of the school where a JB staff member will greet them. You may not drop your child off in the parking lot, or leave them at the crosswalk, please walk them all the way to the building (this is a change from previous years due to safety concerns) Please do not leave your child unattended until a JB staff has opened the doors to the building.
JBS Dismissal Procedures
Time: 2:10-2:25pm
Car Riders: We have a very strategic method to our car rider lines, in order to move them fast. Please follow the arrows on the map. Please have your car rider tag clearly in the window, if you don't have one, please simply make a sign and put it in your dash with your child(s) name(s). A JB staff member will radio the name of the your child and they will start to exit the building (door 24A). Once an entire row is loaded, that row will be released, we will then load the second row. Please just follow the direction of the JB staff there to assist.
Bus Riders: Teachers will walk students out to buses and ensure they get on the correct bus, safely. Please keep in mind, bus routes will be very slow the first week of school. These times will tighten up as the drivers get used to their new routes.
Walk-Ups: You may choose to park in the parking lot and walkup to the building to get your student. A walkup tag will be provided for you. You will form a line outside of door 1. You will give your tag to a JB staff. The staff member will then go inside to get your student. You will not enter the building to get your student(s). You MUST have your walkup tag with you EVERY time.
Day Cares: Your daycare provider will communicate with you the procedures for pick-up.
New-Bus Transportation
Bus drivers will be contacting their students’ families with bus information by the end of the day Sunday, July 28. Families will also be able to access bus information using the My Ride K-12 bus app. Instructions on accessing the app are listed below. If you have transportation questions; please call the bus garage at 317-326-3125.
This school year, we have updated to the My Ride K-12 app. Bus route information and daily bus look up can be accessed through this app. Families that previously used the Ride360 app will still use the same username and password.
Previous Ride360 users:
- Download the My Ride K-12 app.
- When prompted to find your school district, search for Greenfield-Central CSC Indiana.
- Login using your Ride360 username and password.
- Add or find your student(s) by using their Student ID, Last Name, and School.
New Users:
- Download the My Ride K-12 app.
- When prompted to find your school district, search for Greenfield-Central CSC Indiana.
- Click “Register” and enter your email address.
- After registering, you will receive a confirmation email. Once completing the confirmation, you will be ready to add students to your account.
- Click My Students and select + to add a student.
- To add a student, you will need their Student ID, Last Name, and School.
(NEW) JBS School Hours
- 7:30am: Doors open
- 7:45am: Tardy bell
- 7:30am-7:45am: Breakfast (optional/paid) if your child is eating breakfast and is a car rider, please be sure they are here by 7:30am
- Dismissal: 2:10pm

Volunteer Form
If you're interested in volunteering this school year, attending field trips, etc, all volunteers must complete a Volunteer Profile application. This form must be completed each school year. We look forward to having you at JB!
Registration for current families is EASY! Simply log onto PowerSchool and follow the directions below.

(REminder) Save the Date: Parent Informational Nights
We'd like to invite parents Back to School! Please join us for an informational night regarding JB and your child's classroom. Your child's teacher will spend about 20-30 minutes discussing the classroom, procedures, grading, policies, expectations, etc. We encourage students to stay at home this evening.
