The Process of Recycling in five simple steps

Let's break down the recycling journey of plastic into 5 stages. :)

Collection

Plastic waste is gathered from homes, businesses, recycling bins, and collection centres.

Sorting

The collected plastics are separated by type and colour using manual sorting, machines, or infrared scanners.

Cleaning

Plastics are washed to remove dirt, labels, adhesives, and food residues to ensure the recycled material is pure.

Shredding & Pelletising

Clean plastics are shredded into small flakes, then melted and formed into tiny pellets or granules, which serve as raw material.

Manufacturing New Products

The plastic pellets are used to make new items such as packaging, textiles, furniture and clothing.
