Ysgol Tir Morfa - Newsletter Friday 6th June 2025

Dear Parents and Carers,

Another busy week at Ysgol Tir Morfa! Work on the Hydrotherapy Pool is progressing well and we are on track for completion in September.

I want to say a big congratulations to pupils from Dosbarth Brenig who travelled to Cardiff on Wednesday and became the national winners in the ALN category of the ‘WRU Club of the Future Challenge’ organised by the Welsh Rugby Union, HWB and Minecraft Education. A big thank you to Mrs McDermott, Mr Brown and Mr Inns for taking the pupils to Cardiff and looking after them so well.

Have a lovely weekend.

Kind regards,

Susan H. Roberts

Headteacher

Our Week at Tir Morfa
Dosbarth Brenig won the WRU club of the future competition, in the ALN category for the fourth consecutive year!. Here are some quotes from the learners: “It was so fun” , “I liked being a winner”, “I liked making the big world”, “I made a farm”, “I liked making a secret room”, “I liked taking part!, “ we made a food place and we went to Pizza Hut as a class”, “ I made a water slide”, “my favourite part was doing the E-sports with Xbox controllers” . The pupils agree that the most important part was “having fun”
Tryfan learned lots of information and practised lifesaving skills during the sessions with Crucial Crew in school this week.
Alwen pupils went to the shops this week to explore what kinds of things we could sell in our role play beach shop. We found lots of ideas and set up our shop.
Great sessions from the Crucial Crew finding out more about the Emergency services in Findeg this week
Dosbarth Enfys have been exploring the weather through an engaging in a sensory story.
Siabod pupils practising CPR with the Crucial Crew
Haul have enjoyed working in the sensory room this week. We have all being working on our individual targets in the lovely atmosphere in the sensory room. Some of us have been working on our communication skills and some of us have been working on number recognition.
Dosbarth Aled enjoyed a morning of interesting visitors from Crucial Crew this week! They enjoyed trying on the fire fighters kit and practicing CPR! This was a really interactive morning with lots of positive communication!
Dosbarth Tegid had a wonderful trip to Colwyn Bay on the bus to see what different types of transport we can see. We saw cars, lorries, buses, bikes, motorbikes and a train. When we got back we all had lunch together! Fantastic day out
