Easter 2026

The spring term here at Belgrave has been a shorter one but still filled with exciting learning, trips and events. We're glad to share a number of those with you!

Year 1 trip to Gladstone Pottery Museum

Our Year 1 children had a wonderful visit to Gladstone Pottery Museum, where they enjoyed learning about the famous ceramic designer Clarice Cliff. During the trip, the children explored the museum, discovered how pottery is made, and looked closely at Clarice Cliff’s colourful and imaginative designs. They were fascinated by the patterns, shapes, and bright colours she used, and it was a fantastic opportunity to bring their classroom learning to life. The visit inspired lots of creativity and curiosity, and the children represented the school brilliantly throughout the day.

🐣 Nursery Chicks 🐣

This half term, the nursery children have been learning all about spring, new life, and life cycles of a chicken and a flower. We had some special visitor in the nursery classroom who the children were excited to meet. 6 eggs arrived which promptly turned into baby chicks. The children were fascinated and took extra special care of them, teaching them to be compassionate about living things.

Our fluffy visitors in Nursery!

Trip to Trentham

Year 6 recently attended Trentham Gardens to support learning in their learning about habitats and ecosystems. They spent time with a Trentham ranger, who was able to bring the learning to life by explaining how Trentham's resident beaver population is perfectly adapted to its environment. They also discovered that beaver teeth are orange! Who knew?

Walk to School

Our first walk to school together was a huge success. The Eco Team joined forces with Stoke-On-Trent City Council to provide an opportunity for our families to walk to school with an Easter bunny and Easter chick. Around 60 families walked to school together and the traffic around the school site was reduced. Not only is it beneficial to walk to school for your health (both physical and mental) but to improve the pollution around our school grounds.  We hope to plan another walk to school together event in the near future. Thank you to everyone that took part!

Year 3 Easter Trail

Year 3 had a fantastic time learning about Christian beliefs around Easter. We worked hard to create some fabulous craft and wowed the staff with our knowledge during the Easter trail. It was a fabulous, immersive experience and we all had lots of fun!

Nursery had a lovely afternoon on Tuesday the 10th of March, when we invited our mums for afternoon tea. The children had prepared Mother's day cards, a song a chose a daffodil to present to their Mums. We had lots of lovely Mums who attended, and the children were thrilled to share activities such as card making, painting, and reading stories.

World Book Day!

World Book Day was a fantastic celebration of reading and imagination across the school. The children had a wonderful time dressing up as their favourite fairytale characters, bringing stories to life in creative and exciting ways.

We were delighted to welcome so many parents to our “Come Read With Us” session, where you were able to explore practical ways to support your child’s reading at home. Throughout the day, the children took part in a range of engaging activities and produced some wonderful displays inspired by their favourite books. They also enjoyed listening to stories shared by different teachers, adding to the excitement of the day.

A particular highlight was the staff pantomime, which brought lots of laughter and joy to everyone involved. We would like to continue encouraging all parents and carers to celebrate reading at home with their children and to log any reading on Boom Reader so that we can recognise and celebrate their progress together.

Eid Fair 2026

The children were excited to celebrate at the Eid Fair this week and the event was a huge success. Thank you to everyone who helped to organise and everyone who attended to support this event. The final total raised was an incredible £1,326!

🏆 Winners! 🏆

We are pleased to announce that for the third year running, Belgrave have won the inter-trust Times Table Rockstars competition. Out of 23 schools, Belgrave were the clear winners, thank to some outstanding effort by the children! Well done!

Fundraising Day

In February, our community came together for a special fundraising day in honour of Peter Morgan, supporting the incredible work of the Critical Care Unit at North Staffs Hospital. Thanks to the generosity of the community, we raised an impressive £630! This amount has now been added to the running total, bringing the overall contribution to a remarkable £1,199. The donation will help to fund vital equipment, improved facilities, pioneering research and the additional comforts that make such an important difference to people when they need it most.

Easter Bonnet Parade

Although our traditional outdoor parade was cancelled due to the rain, the Early Years and KS1 children had a fantastic time parading their bonnets indoors, to huge applause and cheering from the older children. Look out for more photos coming soon.
