The summer term here at Belgrave has been filled with creative learning, exciting trips and fantastic whole-school activities. As we draw the school year to a close, we would like to share a selection of these with you.
Magic, Music, and Munchkins: Year 6 Shine in The Wizard of Oz!
Last week, Year 6 took us on a magical journey “down the yellow brick road” in their fantastic production of The Wizard of Oz. The performance was a true celebration of teamwork, creativity and talent – making us laugh and cry in equal measure.
Both Dorothies, accompanied by their loyal dog Toto, were swept away to the Land of Oz, where they met a colourful cast of characters. The children brought each role to life with enthusiasm - from the lovable Scarecrow who “only had a brain,” to the kind-hearted Tin Man, and the brave (but nervous) Cowardly Lion.
Every member of the year was part of the cast: confidently delivering their lines and songs, with memorable dances too!
The Year 6 team, supported by the talented Mr Jones and Mrs Wood are incredibly proud. With sparkling costumes, clever directing, and heartfelt performances, they reminded us all that there’s truly “no place like home.”
Sports Day – 25th June 2025
What a fantastic day we had during our Sports Days this year! The sun was shining, spirits were high, and our school field was filled with energy, excitement, and determination.
We are incredibly proud of all our children who took part. From sprint races to team challenges, every pupil gave their best and demonstrated outstanding courage, perseverance and sportsmanship throughout the day.
🥇 Congratulations to our overall winners of the KS1&2 Sports Day — Gladstone! 🏆 Their teamwork and effort truly paid off!
That said, the real victory was in seeing every child being active, having fun, and celebrating each other’s achievements. The enthusiasm and positive attitude shown by our pupils made the day truly special.
A huge thank you to all our families and carers for your support — your cheers, encouragement, and presence helped make the day unforgettable. It's moments like these that create memories to last a lifetime! Photo gallery links are below:
Inflatables Day – A Fantastic Reward!
As a special reward for all their hard work and brilliant behaviour, our children were treated to an unforgettable Inflatables Day, thanks to the amazing team at BeeActive!
The playground was transformed into a giant adventure zone, packed with exciting activities including:
🎈 Bouncy castles
⚔️ Combat inflatable dodgeball
🤼♂️ Sumo wrestling
🏃 Inflatable assault courses
🛝 Inflatable Slide
🎪 Circus acts and more!
The children had so much fun exploring the different inflatables and taking on challenges they’d never tried before. It was a joy to see so many smiles, laughter, and moments of pure excitement throughout the day.
This experience was not just about fun – it was a chance for children to try something new, be active, and celebrate their achievements as a school community.
Summer Fayre 2025
Thank you to all our wonderful families who attended and supported our annual Summer Fayre. It was fantastic to see everyone enjoying themselves! 🍦🌞
A huge thank you to all the staff at Belgrave for running each stall with such fun and enthusiasm — especially those who bravely volunteered to be soaked.
I’m delighted to announce that we have raised £1,744, which is a fantastic result. This money will go towards experiences and activities for the next academic year.
SATS 2025
Our amazing Year 6 students have received their SATS results and have much to celebrate! Their hard work, dedication and commitment to learning has been exemplary and they should be extremely proud of all they have achieved.
Following SATS results, the Year 6s have been enjoying a series of fun events and special assemblies to mark the end of their time at Belgrave. We wish them all the best as they move to their new schools in September.
Year 6 Prom – A Night to Remember!
What a night! The children arrived in style — from flashy cars to horses — with the drums adding to the excitement. The hall was beautifully decorated, the music was loud, and the smiles were even bigger. A magical evening to celebrate their journey and friendships.
The perfect way to mark the end of their primary school journey — a joyful evening full of pride, friendship, and fun!

Year 6 Bikeability Training
This term, our Year 6 pupils took part in Bikeability training - an exciting and practical course designed to help children gain the skills and confidence they need to cycle safely on the roads.
The children learned how to check their bikes, signal clearly, and navigate different types of junctions. Starting on the playground to build basic control, they soon progressed to cycling on local roads under the guidance of experienced instructors. We even had some children who started the day as non-riders and by the end of Day 2, had passed their level 2.
Year 6 showed great focus, responsibility, and enthusiasm throughout the sessions - well done to everyone who took part!
Keep cycling!
Home Reading Rewards
Congratulations to all of the children who have read at home this year! Children have earned prizes all year and this week have enjoyed celebrating with pizza treats, film afternoons, extra playtimes. An extra huge well done to the 8 children who have reached the final reward – a voucher for a cinema visit. They have read 180 times this year and we hope you enjoy your reward!
Thank you to all parents who have supported their child to read at home.
Please sign your child up for the Summer National Reading Challenge
CENTENARY CELEBRATIONS
On 5th June, Belgrave celebrated Stoke-on-Trent's centenary! We had a worship led by some year 5 and 6 pupils, each year group completed a different activity to learn more about our special city being 100 years old! We were lucky enough to decorate our own plates to keep as a memory of the day! Also, each child has completed an art activity for our very own school display!
Thank you to all our families for all your support this year. We hope you all enjoy a very restful break and we look forward to welcoming the children back to school on Tuesday SEPTEMBER 2nd.
