The Ins and Outs of Eating! Know Before YOU Go

If you're anything like me, then you are probably spending all day at the parks, so it is vital to know your dining options before hunger sets in. When it comes to Disney, there are two main factors that I keep in mind when making my decision: will it offer food I enjoy, and how much will it cost? Walt Disney World has a wide array of fantastic eateries that serve up a little something for everyone, regardless of your preferences or budget. So, let's dive into a topic about one of the most enjoyable experiences at Walt Disney World, in my humble opinion.

Once you decide how hungry you are, you can look to see what choices your current park has in your price range. Typically costs fall into one of three categories. Under fifteen dollars, which will generally be either snack or quick service locations, perfect in between dashes from ride to ride. Then you have the mid-tier, which will likely run from fifteen to thirty; this will be a mix of the two. Finally, on the higher end, you will be looking to spend around thirty and up, but often these will be your upscale table service restaurants.

Now that we have those decisions squared away, it is time to focus on how you want to go about getting your food. You can always choose to stroll up and place your order, but if you are trying to squeeze in a meal between show times or just want to ensure you have a spot to eat when you arrive, mobile ordering is a huge help. This can be done through the My Disney Experience app, which is a total timesaver. Depending on how much you like to plan ahead, you can make reservations for most sit-down restaurants up to ninety days out before you even get to the parks.

If you choose to stay at a resort, you can bundle your stay with a dining package. There are two types: the Quick Service Plan, which includes two quick service meals per night of your stay, one snack per day, and a refillable mug. The second is simply referred to as the Disney Dining Plan, which divides the credits into one quick service and one table service meal while still allowing the guest one daily snack and a refillable mug. Either one of these can be accessed through My Disney Experience, making it easy to keep track of your credits. You also don't have to worry if you have any special dietary restrictions. Whether it is a lifestyle choice, such as being a vegetarian or vegan, or it corresponds to a particular allergy, many menus serve plant-based selections, and Disney is excellent at accommodating guests’ needs.

With all that said, I'll leave you with a few tips and suggestions just from me to you guys. First, and it can't be said enough, eating is essential. Whether it is a quick bite for energy or an end-of-the-night meal to refuel after the day, don't forget to fit this into your schedule. Personally, I would also say don't sleep on snack places. The lines tend to move quickly, and it can give you just enough to satisfy your hunger and allow you to keep going, while not giving you that overly full feeling. Also, if it's your first visit, be sure to try all the classics, such as a big hearty turkey leg or cutely crafted Mickey Waffles. Just remember to have fun and enjoy all the yummy food and treats Disney has to offer.

Sincerely, Your Disney Buddy!
