Staples struts their spirit, anticipate homecoming by Samantha Sandrew '25

The Wreckers tackle spirit week in anticipation for homecoming, the game, the dance and the pep rally. The pep rally was postponed due to the rainy weather. However, football continued through the unfortunate climate with the boys' football game crushing Stamford 21 to 10 on Oct. 20. The dance commenced the following night, Saturday Oct. 21, in the cafeteria and gym.

Staples snuggles up in their PJs for the first day of spirit week. Comfy students, Zoe Mann '24, Georgia Mori '24 and Abby Friedman '24, rock their best patterned pajamas while studying on the bridge. Gianna Amatuzzi '24matches in her heart set to set the tone for the rest of the week.
Ben Enos '24 and Ben Herrera '24 twin in spirit of Tuesday's theme, dynamic duos. The senior girls deviated, sporting their bucket hats and Hawaiian shirts to be dads on vacation. Keira Lichterr '24 styles sandals along with the classic uniform to really complete the outfit.
Jordy Greenspan '24 dons her best khaki colors to imitate her dad on vacation. Staples superfans captain, , Eliza Edwards '24, goes the more tropical route with flower print sunglasses and a fanny pack.
Staples battles in color wars on Wednesday with freshman being green, sophomores blue, juniors purple, seniors red and teachers rocking pink. Raquel Dembin '24 and Kervin Joseph '24 don their best and brightest red to support the senior class. Dembin also works TAG's annual Remember the Game pledge, a promise to be responsible at Homecoming activities. The teachers also show out with mental health resource, Ally Follett, and assistant principal, Christine Cincotta, repping pink for the staff.
Taylor Brunetti wears a bright purple wig in honor of the junior class. Principal Stafford W. Thomas Jr. incorporates hidden elements of pink with colored socks littered with his kid's faces.
On Thursday, students rock either their lightest or warmest clothes, choosing a side in the Skier vs Surfer contest. Sarah McCourt '24 bundles up in her Uggs to support the snowy side. However, Samuel Zwick Lavinsky '25 proudly wears Hawaiian themed cross country logo wear in favor of surfing those waves. Defne Merih '23, Annika Reddy '23 and Leigh Foran '24 don their snow pants, ready to ski the slopes.
Seamus Brannigan '26 and Daisy Chung '25 represent Staples in their logo wear for the final days theme: Wrecker colors. However, the Football game requires a change of clothes with the theme being pink out in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.
The senior girls wear the classic homecoming shirts with Wreck on the front and a nickname of their choice on the back. Cheer captain Cammie Rubino '24 sports her nickname "Ronny" over her cheer uniform. The cheer team honor October as Breast Cancer Awareness month through adding pink bows instead of their usual blue and white.
