AACP Launches Inaugural Pharm4Me Student Ambassador Program

AACP has selected 43 students to participate in its inaugural Pharm4Me Student Ambassador Program. The program aims to promote the pharmacy profession to prospective students by building a network of student ambassadors across pharmacy schools who inspire interest in pharmacy education and careers, supporting the profession’s growth and advancement.

Student ambassadors will serve one-year terms, during which they undertake various activities to engage with prospective students, including creating content for Pharm4Me social media platforms, completing a presentation about pharmacy careers to prospective students in the ambassador’s local community, and participating in AACP student recruitment events such as virtual fairs and panels.

We asked the incoming ambassadors:

What does being a Pharm4Me Student Ambassador mean to you?

"A Pharm4Me Student Ambassador means representing a profession that has truly shaped who I am. Pharmacy is more than a career to me—it’s a calling rooted in service, compassion, and the ability to make a real difference in people’s lives. This role is especially meaningful because it allows me to give back by sharing my journey, connecting with others, and inspiring future students who may still be discovering their path. I hope to help them see the purpose, impact, and opportunities that pharmacy has to offer." -Emilia Abril, Midwestern University, Class of 2027

Through sharing my experiences and creating engaging content, I hope to highlight the impact pharmacists have on patient care and public health. To me, this role is not just about promotion; it is about mentorship, advocacy, and building a stronger, more inclusive future for the profession." -Noor Abdulqader, Oregon State University, Class of 2028

It means serving as a connection between the profession and community by sharing stories about the journey as a student pharmacist, including academics, internship opportunities, community involvement, and leadership experiences. Pharmacy was not my original career plan, so I understand how valuable mentorship and exposure to the field can shape someone's path. Serving as a Pharm4Me Ambassador would allow me to contribute to the profession by helping students explore the pharmacy field, sharing experiences that highlight the pharmacy journey, and providing guidance on understanding the many career paths available within pharmacy. "The Pharm4Me Student Ambassador Program allows me to become the leader I needed while growing up in rural South Carolina. In many rural communities, students are not always exposed to the wide range of healthcare careers available to them, and even when they are, they may know very little about networking or how to pursue those opportunities. Through this program, I hope to help students better understand their interests and see how their hobbies and strengths can connect to a potential career in pharmacy." -James Brown, University of South Carolina, Class of 2028

"I am very honored to be chosen as a Pharm4Me Student Ambassador. Over the past couple years, I've been promoting the pharmacy profession through student Q&A presentations and virtual meetings with prospective pharmacy students at Ferris State University. This opportunity allows me to express my love for pharmacy to a wider audience by sharing my story of how I chose my lifelong career. I'm excited to build connections with people while assuming this role and hopefully spark their interest in the profession as well!" -Alexis Carriere, Ferris State University, Class of 2028

"What a Pharm4Me Student Ambassador means to me is someone who inspires others in pharmacy and life. It is a privilege to share my journey and highlight the many careers that pharmacists belong in. Growing up, my inspirations came from community and hospital pharmacists, who displayed forms of patient care and knowledge that I wanted to reciprocate. As a pharmacy student, I have learned that pharmacists may deliver care to patients directly, such as ambulatory-care pharmacists, or indirectly, such as compounding pharmacists. Needless to say, the opportunities are endless. Being in an accelerated program, I have experienced the rigorous coursework and meaningful clinical rotations that develop students into healthcare professionals. It would be an honor to represent our program and instill confidence in prospective students." -Mascot Chen, West Coast University, Class of 2027

"I am very grateful to be given this role. I believe that students entering into any profession are the best people to ask for advice. There are so many different career options within pharmacy, and it can feel overwhelming at first. I hope to help students better understand the variety of opportunities available and feel more confident in the steps they need to take to reach their goals. It’s really meaningful to me to be able to support and encourage others as they start thinking about their future, just as my mentors have done for me." -Chloe Crandell, The University of Iowa, Class of 2028 "Growing up I had Selective Mutism which made me not talk to anyone outside of my immediate family. Growing up I slowly started to be comfortable speaking out, but especially so once I went to college. I never felt like I could speak up and often felt like I was in the shadows. Because of my experience, I have always tried to make sure everyone has a voice, even if they may not express it. For longer than I can remember, I wanted to help others find where they belong, even when I did not feel like I belonged. I finally got the chance to step into more of a leadership role helping others when I started my pharmacy program. I want others to feel seen regardless of who they are. Whether they are patients I see in my community, students in the year below me, prospective students, or anyone interested in pharmacy." -Catherine Cunningham, Shenandoah University, Class of 2028

I'm especially passionate about showing prospective students that pharmacy is a diverse and evolving field with many different paths and opportunities. Through this role, I hope to help make the profession feel accessible, supportive, and inspiring to students who are just starting to imagine themselves as future pharmacists." -Olivia Detrick, University of Findlay, Class of 2029
