"The greatest nations are defined by how they treat their weakest inhabitants"- Jose Ramos . Immigrants have helped shape entrepreneurship and education throughout America in many positive ways. Some ways being immigrants taking advantage and going to college and earning their bachelor's degree/higher degrees. Immigrants statistically created more large business firms and more job opportunities than "native born". Lastly, how the population growth is going up in the U.S. .
A lot of people have had this misconception that most immigrants who come here illegally or legally have only settled here to not work or learning anything new . And yes, while there can be some who come here illegally or legally looking to find free things and take advantage of our system in a wrong manner most do not. For example according to Pew Research Center fourteen to twenty-two percent of immigrant women and twelve to eighteen percent of immigrant men say that hispanics are more likely to attain bachelors degrees and higher. Pew Research Center also mentions how Latinos enrolled in college or post graduate education increased in 2010 to 2022 from 2.9 million to 4.2 million.
Immigrants have shaped America in many positive ways, one of those many ways would be creating many successful large businesses and more jobs than "native born".
Javier miranda on the podcast "Immigration nerds" dives deep and explains that immigrants have created more than forty-nine percent more jobs than "native born". Javier continues on saying immigration firms are high growth firms than the "native born". High growth firms in his break down means they tend to experience rapid expansion in their sales, profits, and market share. In these large firms ran by immigrants and "native born" are likely to hire all kinds of people of different skin tone, different ethnicities, different backgrounds, etc.. . Many people now a days have many opinions about these immigrants coming to our country legally or illegally, one of those would be that they take more jobs than they create which is very untrue according to the statics (provided in podcast linked) you will see how those opinions couldn't be further from the truth. With these immigrant ran larger firm businesses being higher they create more jobs for many different type of people by forty-nine percent. Micro firm businesses (mom and pop shops/ restaurants) ran by immigrants or "native born" usually having less than ten employees usually stick to people who look like them.
Hispanic immigrants throughout the years have came to America looking for better opportunities for their family and themselves, again not all but the majority take advantage (in a good way) of what can be offered to them in America. While they stay here to grow their life and make something of themselves they become part of our population. As part of our population and society that means growth in the U.S. grows more and more throughout the years. In pew Research center statics say that the increase of people Growth in the number of Latinos comes primarily from those who identify as at least one specific race and “some other race” . The population grew from 2.1 million to 24.9 million between 2010 and 2022.By the population growing from these immigrants migrating to the U.S. they are contributing to the economy by providing labor and money. Spending their incomes on American goods and services, paying taxes and raising the productivity of U.S. businesses are all good things for our economy.
Immigrants can affectively change the economy while there may be may opinions that can argue the oppisite I believe the statics says otherwise. Immigrants contribute more than some people realize, they take the jobs nobody would want, they can have a good education, and they can start successful businesses just like any "native born". I believe that it's important to see how immigrants helped shape America by investing into education and entrepreneurship.
