End of term - see you in 2026!
As we finish for the holidays today and the end of the calendar year approaches, we would like to take this opportunity to say thank you for all of your support in 2025. We hope everyone has enjoyed the festivities in school over the last couple of weeks. It is a busy time in school, and we would like to express our gratitude to all of the school staff and volunteers whose hard work makes it happen and ensures a special time for the children. A really big thank you also to the Friends of Parkside PTA for everything they have done this year, raising much needed funds for the school and putting on fun events for families to enjoy.
We hope the holidays provide you the opportunity for some rest in amongst all the excitement. We also know that this time of year can be difficult for many reasons, so if you find you are struggling, please know that there is help and support out there. Hull & East Yorkshire Mind have lots of useful advice, including this 'Coping with Christmas' guide.
We wish you safe, healthy and peaceful break, and will see you all back in the new year on Tuesday 6th January.

We hope you all enjoyed coming in to school to see the Christmas performances and watch the carols. Thank you everyone for supporting the children. Spotlight on Attendance 🔦
As we come to the end of the December, we want to acknowledge that there have been lots of bugs and illnesses circulating this month. We hope that all children and families enjoy a well-deserved break and return feeling healthy and rested in the New Year.
A gentle reminder: Please avoid keeping children off school for minor illnesses. Regular attendance is important for learning and social development. If you’re unsure whether your child should attend school, please refer to the helpful guide by clicking this link. Thank you for your continued support in helping us maintain good attendance and a healthy school environment.  Wishing you all a happy and healthy holiday season!
Here are some reminder of how to support your child:
- Do not take holidays in term time (see here for Penalty Notice information)
- Make appointments outside of school hours
- Use the "When is to ill to ill" guidance when considering keeping your child off school (click here to view)
- Arrive on time each day. School gates open at 8.40 with registers closing at 8.55am
- Reach out to school Via Mrs Daine or Mrs Greenley for support around school attendance including Emotional Based School Avoidance
Absence from school not only equates to lost learning but also missing out on other benefits to a child's wellbeing and wider development.
