The inaugural STEMtastic Adventures! Africa Symposium took place at the Centre for Mathematics, Science and Technology Education in Africa (CEMASTEA) in Nairobi, Kenya, bringing together over 600 participants from 30+ African countries and beyond. Co-hosted by the mEducation Alliance, CEMASTEA, and AUDA-NEPAD, the four-day event convened policymakers, educators, innovators, and youth leaders to explore bold ideas shaping the future of STEM education across the African continent.

Highlights included the STEM Education Village, featuring 40+ exhibitors such as AWS, Ubongo, SMART Technologies, Zizi Afrique, CASIO, and Ol Pejeta Conservancy, as well as dynamic presentation sessions on AI and Emerging Technologies, Climate Education, Teacher Empowerment, and Inclusive STEM. The symposium concluded with Networking in the Wild at Oloolua Forest — a uniquely Kenyan experience blending nature, networking, and reflection

Through powerful discussions, hands-on demonstrations, and new partnerships, STEMtastic Adventures! Africa 2025 celebrated Africa’s innovation ecosystem and strengthened the continent’s shared commitment to building resilient, inclusive, and future-ready STEM education systems.

Get to know more about the mEducation Alliance!

The mEducation Alliance (mEA) and its Members are committed to strengthening educational ecosystems to bring wondrous learning opportunities to those in low-resource contexts.

In addition to hosting the STEMtastic Adventures! Africa Symposium in 2025, mEA hosted its inaugural Pacific regional symposium — STEMtastic Adventures! with Young Pacific Leaders (Nadi, Fiji, 9 - 11 September), bringing together educators, policymakers, and innovators from across the Pacific Islands to reimagine STEM education.

This followed two successful global STEM-themed Symposia in 2023 and 2024, and the theme continued into mEA’s 15th Annual Global Symposium, The Marvelous Education Alliance (Arlington, Virginia, 7 - 9 October 2025).

Building on the momentum and connections from these gatherings, mEA is now developing a Global STEM Education Champions Network — a collaborative community of STEM educators, policymakers, and “STEMpreneurs” from around the world dedicated to advancing equitable, innovative learning opportunities.
