I am delighted that BMT are continuing to sponsor the UK AFWSA and remain closely affiliated with the telemark community.
The world continues to become ever more troubled and complex; the only thing that appears to change is the speed of change itself. Taking time to pursue sports could be seen as a luxury but the talent and dedication needed to become an elite athlete is an example to all about what is needed to succeed and overcome challenges which come at you at pace, often in what can be very unpleasant conditions. The sponsors admire you all. Industry stands by the Services not just through such competitive sports events, we are here 365 days a year supporting defence as a national endeavour. From manufacturing to the professional services sector, we all have a role to play in ensuring the nation’s safety, security and prosperity. Whilst medals are awarded to the first past the post, no-one gets there without the team around them.
As BMT tackles the most impactful engineering challenges of our time, our values of Trust, Innovation, Passion, Respect and Collaboration are deliberately aligned with those held dear by every serviceman and woman and we see them lived daily in the UK AFWSA competitions.
