Every year, SJS comes up with something unique and creative to foster the young minds with curiosity, innovation and critical thinking. "The Junior Journal" is another unique feature of the school which aims to showcase and celebrate the exceptional events and achievements of the students learning at SJS, Naraina. The publication is released on a monthly basis, providing a comprehensive overview of the notable accomplishments, events and projects undertaken by the learners in a month, within our educational community. This monthly journal will serve as a platform to recognize and applaud the outstanding efforts of the students.

"Empowering educators with creative tools fosters a dynamic learning environment."

On January 11, 2024, Ms. Tajinder Kaur and Ms. Japsifat Kaur from Salwan Junior School showcased innovative uses of Adobe tools at an Adobe Creative Educators Meetup. They highlighted how students leverage these tools to enhance creativity and engagement in the classroom. Ms. Japsifat discussed their impact on English education, while Ms. Tajinder demonstrated the implementation of Generative AI and digital portfolios. The collaborative effort highlighted the school's dedication to embracing innovative educational technologies, leaving participants inspired and impressed.

On January 17' 2024 the Salwan Education Trust hosted an enthralling science workshop from 10:00 am to 11:00 am, led by the esteemed Padma Shri Arvind Gupta. Under the theme "Unleashing the Power of Science - The Exciting Way," attendees were treated to an immersive experience delving into the captivating realms of scientific exploration. Padma Shri Arvind Gupta's hands-on demonstrations and interactive discussions transformed mundane materials into engaging scientific toys, igniting curiosity and revolutionizing perspectives on learning. The workshop underscored the joy and excitement inherent in scientific inquiry, leaving a lasting impact on participants and highlighting the Trust's commitment to fostering a culture of curiosity and discovery within the academic community.

During the transport-themed journey conducted in the second week of February, students in Nursery and KG classes observed not only the movement of vehicles but also their own remarkable development. From literacy to math skills, and from gross motor activities to deeper understandings, the demonstration function illuminated their strides. It became a celebration of growth, fostering collaborative learning between parents and children, setting the stage for future adventures.

As fields don golden hues, Basant Panchami ushered in a celebration of nature's enchanting beauty in the month of February 2024. Led by Headmistress, Ms. Sonia Wadhwa, students paid homage to Goddess Saraswati through vibrant processions and soulful performances. Clad in yellow attire, embraced the spirit of spring, invoking blessings for wisdom and success."

Language Debate: Celebrating Linguistic Expression

"Language is not just language, it is a medium of thoughts."

The school hosted a vibrant debate competition on February 12' 2024, where Class I & II were engaged in Hindi debate topics, while Class III, IV, and V wonderfully presented their views in English. Participants displayed eloquence and critical thinking, with judges lauding their articulate arguments over topics related to childhood, schooling and healthy eating. This debate activity celebrated linguistic diversity and promoted meaningful discourse in both Hindi and English, fostering students' communication skills and ability to express themselves confidently.

Led by dedicated teachers, the visit combined learning with a refreshing outdoor experience, fostering a deeper appreciation for Mughal architecture and the beauty of nature.

"Empowering Educators: Self-Development Training Programme"

The ongoing professional development programme for staff is a regular feature of Salwan Education Trust. The Self Development Training session held on February 13' 2024 at Salwan Public School, Mayur Vihar, enlightened 50 teachers of Salwan Schools on mastering communication, emotional regulation, and effective problem-solving. Led by Capt. Richa Sharma Katyal, Principal SPS, MV, the session emphasized on self-awareness and emotional well being fostering positive school climates, enriching both educators and students alike. Ms. Sabinder Kaur, Ms. Anupam Sharma, and Ms. Tajinder Kaur attended this workshop from SJS, Naraina and came back enriched with personal effectiveness.

Conducted on February 9, 2024, the interactive session left a lasting impression, inspiring attendees to embrace holistic approaches to health and happiness. the resource person highlighted the importance of healthy living- a progression of healthy habits and mindful living and concluded with interactive session with the Salwanians.

AI Sub Junior Fest: Cultivating Tomorrow's Innovators

The AI Fest, held on February 3, 2024, at Salwan Public School, Gurugram, engaged students in puzzle challenges, robotics, and AI-driven learning activities. Students engaged in a variety of AI-driven activities, including programming robots and exploring personalized learning platforms. Additionally, they utilized 3D pens, interactive tablets, and whiteboards to foster creativity and enhance their understanding of AI technologies. The fest emphasized the importance of logical thinking and creativity, paving the way for students to excel in an AI-driven world.

Salwan Junior School's recent fire drill, initiated promptly at 10:32 AM on February 26' 2024, showcased the efficiency of our evacuation procedures. Within an impressive 3-minute span, the entire school building was successfully evacuated, highlighting the effectiveness of our emergency protocols and the dedication of our students and staff. This successful execution underscores our unwavering commitment to prioritizing the safety and well-being of everyone within our school community.
