Handmade jewellery: Jewellery that has been put together and fashioned by hand instead of being made with machinery is referred to as handmade jewellery or crafted jewellery.
Seashells were used as beads in the earliest known handcrafted jewellery, which was manufactured by Neanderthals in Europe 115,000 years ago. There is also evidence of ancient necklaces and bracelets from other species in caves in Africa and Spain.
In ancient Egypt, jewellery was worn by all classes of people, from rich royals to humble farmers. Glass beads, expensive metals, and semi-precious stones were used to create jewellery for the wealthy people. Poor people replaced these with painted clay, bones, stones, shells, and animal teeth. The Egyptians were quite aware of the supernatural properties of jewellery and wore it mostly to prevent off illness, ward off evil, or bring good luck.
