Basketball

Basketball fell in the District Semifinal after an opening round win at Copley and finishing 13-9 in the regular season. Highlights from the season included impressive wins over Gilmour, Cleveland Central Catholic, CVCA, and Lutheran West. Serving as team captain was Aditya Nalla '26.

“Being a part of the US Basketball program for four years has been an incredible journey and a privilege. There have been countless memories made and lessons learned that I will take with me for the rest of my life. These last two years as a member of the Varsity team have allowed me to experience some of the best moments in my US career. From daily practices with my friends, to beating Maple Heights as the extreme underdogs my junior year, to the overnight trips, I feel nothing but blessed to be a part of such a close-knit team that I have bonded with over the last two years.”

Hockey

Hockey fell in the Kent Regional Final and finished the season 23-13-2. Patrick Corcoran '26 served as team captain while classmates Finn Bryan, Carson Barlow, and Z Cimoroni were assistant captains.

“There are many things I already miss about US hockey, but one that stands out is the mantra we come up with each year to define the team. This year, we were the US hockey train. After New Year’s, we all jumped aboard and got it rolling in the right direction, taking out anyone who stood in our way all the way to our final game. While the season didn’t end the way we wanted, the lessons we learned and the friendships we built will keep our train moving for a lifetime.” - Z Cimoroni ’26

Squash

Squash finished the regular season with a 15-3 record before heading to Philadelphia for the National Championship. US secured impressive wins over St. Louis MICDS, St. Andrews (DE), and Lake Forest Academy (IL) this year. Serving as team captains were Iggy Lahorra ’26 and Dan Miklus ’26.

“The US squash team is truly a special community. The lengthy bus rides and late nights created bonds like no other. Each team member showed great dedication to upholding the standard every day. The group quickly became a family that supported each other, not just on the court but also in the classroom. The program allowed me to develop from a mentee needing guidance to a mentor ready to guide. I know that the underclassmen will grow similarly and lead the team to continue its rich tradition.”

Swimming & Diving

Swimming and Diving won its fifth consecutive OHSAA Division 2 State Championship, the eleventh in program history. Serving as team captains were seniors Paul Moody, Brendan Sulak, and Danny Sullivan.

“Swimming is an individual sport, but it never feels that way when you're a part of the US swim team. From early hours in the weight room to long nights on the pool deck, we support each other every step of the way. I will never forget the memories made and the lessons I learned. It has been an honor to swim for this team.”

Wrestling

Wrestling finished seventh at the Division 2 Sectional Tournament and had four athletes qualify for the District Championship where they finished 30th out of 59 teams. Doyle Grosz '27 qualified for the State Championship for the second consecutive year. George Atkinson '26, Grosz, Mac Hurley '27, and Phin Kasubick '27 served as team captains.

"Wrestling at US has pushed me harder than anything else, both mentally and physically. The long practices, early mornings, and tough matches have pushed me to my limits, but they’ve also helped forge a brotherhood that will last a lifetime. It has shaped me into the competitor, teammate, and leader I am today, and for that, I’m forever thankful."
