Shifted Perspective ADOBE STOCK CREATIVE CHALLENGE June 2024

We asked our community to capture the world in a way that challenges the ordinary and highlights the extraordinary. So they submitted their images to let us see through their innovative lens!

Keywords: jog, sportsman, outdoors, perspective, run. Good use of keywords; however, I would have preferred “road” to “perspective” in the top five (or ten).

This is a nice image, very useful for customers who have a need for copy space. Even though the composition is quite “traditional”, with the horizon on the middle of the image, and the leading lines going to the center, the fact that the main subject is on one side makes the image more interesting. The contrast of the human figure also catches our eyes, drawing our attention from the empty road and sky.

Keywords: Swimming pool, girl, sitting, dress, above. I would like to have some keywords here talking about the mood, like “solitude” or “relaxation”. But the chosen keywords work very well!

This image has a wild feel about it, with those green branches framing the lower part and the overall warm feeling of the image. The higher point of view, maybe from a balcony, is interesting and moves away from the aerial view that we usually see in swimming pool stock images. The color contrast automatically drives our attention to the girl with the red dress, and the mood of the image matches her relaxed pose.

Keywords: skater, reflection, woman, upside, sport. Those are good keywords. “Upside” doesn’t get many results in Adobe Stock (a bit under 80K), so having it in the top ten is a good call.

This is a good image with an interesting twist (pun intended). First, we see her distorted image on the pool, with her face gone, which makes the photo very interesting and atmospheric. Then, the warmth of the ground makes it look like an arid sunset. We have really interesting effects here by just rotating the camera! Nice one!

DragonImages

Keywords: staircase, office, business, colleague, talk. I missed some keywords about “workers” or “white-collar” since I believe they apply here.

This is an interesting composition, with different materials and textures playing interestingly. Framing the image so that we could see more of the reflection of the businessmen would have been interesting, too, since we would give more importance to the human figures. Even though the composition is good, it doesn’t leave much room for copy, so it will limit the number of customers who may find it useful.

Carolina J

Keywords: travel, road, Argentina, mirror, journey. It is always good to locate your travel images, so good to include Argentina there; however, I’m missing something a bit more precise about the location 😉

There are details that move landscape photos to travel ones; sometimes, just by using a simple element, we can modify that landscape into a story, which is way much more useful for customers. Here we do not only have a landscape, but we have a past and a future; a place we move from, something we leave behind. I would have taken a different approach with the framing, though: you could close in into the mirror to focus on the landscape, or add a little bit more space on the right, so it could be used as copyspace.

AnnaStills

Keywords: church, priest, religion, stained glass, darkness. Nothing to add here! You have keywords that describe the elements in the image and some conceptual ones, so everything is covered.

This is an interesting image, with that great contrast between light and darkness, which can be read as part of the storytelling here. Also, the portrayal of religion in a more humane and relatable way helps the impact of the picture. The slightly low angle is great, but I would have framed the image differently, if possible, during the shoot or in post-production to have him more centered.

MediaPhotos

Keywords: supermarket, beverages, freezer, food, grocery. Good keywords! I liked that you focused on the important elements and omitted the out-of-focus woman from the background, which is not so relevant to the image.

But, even though it is not so relevant, the inclusion of a person in a product shot (even though I wouldn’t consider this a strict product shot) is always a good idea since it adds more interest and a way that the viewer can relate to the image. I have mixed feelings about the vertical line separating the crystal panels… I don’t like it, but it kind of works, since we have the human element on one side and the products on the other. This image has a lot of value for customers that want to talk about healthy lifestyle, food, or even economy!

Simi Jois

Keywords: plant, tomato, dirt, gardening, perspective. Nice keywords. I think perspective is not so relevant here (although it is for the Challenge!), so I would use “orchard” instead.

I like this kind of parallel leading lines, as if they were a bull’s eye 😊 The monochromatic contrast of the greens and the browns is great because it makes the plants pop out as fresh elements. The framing allows customers to crop it to vertical or square aspect ratios to adapt the image to their needs, and the top side has enough room to be used as copyspace.

Oleksandra

Keywords: tree, rising, hill, sky fall, low angle view. I do not like the “sky fall” keyword, since it is a concept that won’t translate to other languages; I would keep simply “sky”as keyword (even though there are almost 57 million images with that keyword). The “low angle view” won’t translate either, and I think some other concepts, such as “nature”, “summer”, etc.

I’m having a hard time knowing if the horizon is slanted or if it is just a steep hill. I believe the tree trunk should grow upwards, but the clouds make me doubt… Anyway, it is a good summery image, with those warm tones on the clouds and the grass in golden tones. That’s a lot of room for copyspace, but it also allows the customers to reframe the image in landscape mode and keep only the hill, the tree, and a bit of sky. Also, I am missing something that tells a story, as with Carolina’s image, since I believe travel images are more interesting than plain landscapes.

SeventyFour

Keywords: skateboard, teenager, urban, sk8, jump. At first I wasn’t fond of “sk8” as a keyword, but plenty of images use that. However, I would advise using synonyms on the top ten keywords, so I would pick up one of the two and add some other concepts, such as the name of the trick (which I believe is “ollie”, but I’m not 100% sure).

This image has such intense energy! And the picture is great, with the kid mid-air doing his trick, and that incredible structure over him. That’s a good example in how things that we may see everyday can have a different impact with a new perspective.
