Jasper, Asher, Lora, and Fran traveled to Rock Springs Ranch to attend the annual Kansas Youth Leadership Forum. While there, they attended leadership and career building workshops, small and large group sessions. One of the main purposes for KYLF is elections for Kansas 4-H Youth Leadership Council. Douglas County represented the North-East region in voting for members. One of the highlights of the event was the Keynote and Capstone speaker, Brandon Lee White. Brandon is a motivational speaker for youth leaders and gave advice on how teens can take hold of their lives, and shared his motto, “Own It”. The weekend was full of learning, friends, and fun. We hope to get more Douglas County 4-Hers interested so we can have an even better experience next year. LeeAnn Hartwick and Anja Woolverton attended the Kansas 4-H Volunteer Leaders forum held concurrently with the Youth event. In addition to hearing from the keynote speaker, they heard updates on the Kansas 4-H program, discussed tips on navigating volunteer burnout, and learned about the use of AI tools. LeeAnn was elected to the volunteer board as the Regional Vice President for the Northeast region. Written by Lora, Fran, and Asher
