The Athletic Performance Center (APC) opened on September 2019. The facility features a 10,800-square-foot weight room, the largest of the NCAA Division I non-football institutions in the state of California. It also includes a dedicated nutrition space, a basketball practice facility, and a six-lane, 30-yard training area among other amenities.

California Baptist University has announced the hiring of Trevor Johnson as the 14th Head Coach of women's volleyball. The Cerritos, California native will be returning to California after spending the past season as an assistant coach at the University of Georgia.
"Lancer Nation is excited to welcome home Coach Trevor Johnson," said Vice President for Athletics Dr. Micah Parker. "Trevor is a fit for our mission of Honoring Christ Through Excellence in Athletics and his experience of recruiting at the highest level will be invaluable to our program."
The return to Riverside will be familiar territory for coach Johnson, who spent four seasons on the Lancer men's volleyball team and received his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology in 2005 from CBU. Johnson was a four-year starter who helped the Lancers win back-to-back NAIA National Championships in 2004 and 2005. Johnson racked up 3,820 assists for CBU and was the NAIA National Championships assists leader from 2003 to 2004. Johnson was also an assistant coach at CBU from 2007-2009 and from 2010-2011, compiling a 127-39 record for the men's and women's programs. As a coach for the Lancers, Johnson helped lead the men to the 2011 NAIA title and guided the women to the NAIA National semifinals in 2008.

Assistant Coach & Recruiting Coordinator Jimmy Lundgren

Jimmy brings valuable experience in recruiting, game management, and opponent scouting, and his integrity serves as a source of inspiration for both our team and coaching staff."
Jimmy Lundgren joined Head Coach Trevor Johnson's staff as his lead assistant/recruiting coordinator in January of 2025.
Prior to joining the Lancers, Coach Lundgren was an assistant coach at the University of San Diego from 2019-2024.
In his six seasons at USD, Lundgren helped the Toreros to a 126-43 record, five NCAA Tournament appearances (including a Final Four) and the 2019 and 2022 West Coast Conference Championships. In addition to recruiting, training and scouting responsibilities, Lundgren was also USD's technical coordinator and oversaw all logistics for the program.
Coach Lundgren worked with Team USA Volleyball in the Summer of 2024 serving as a Team Leader and Assistant Coach for the Senior National Team during the NORCECA Final 6 Tournament and the Pan-American Games. The team brought home the silver medal in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic and Guanajuato, Mexico. Lundgren was in charge of coordinating tournament logistics, assisting in training and scouting and making player personnel decisions.
Assistant Coach Brylee Kelly

Brylee’s leadership, dedication, and expertise will be instrumental in driving the continued success of our program both on and off the court"
Brylee Kelly joined Coach Trevor Johnson's staff in January of 2025.
Kelly began her coaching career in 2024 as an assistant at Liberty University under Acting Coach Nolan Albrecht. While at Liberty, Coach Kelly primarily worked with pin attackers and middle blockers, running routes and finding scoring opportunities. Kelly helped Kate Gammer and Madison Blane earn all-conference honors during her time there in 2024.
A native of Monee, Ill., Kelly is leaving Wichita State as one of the most successful players in Shocker History. As an outside hitter, Kelly finished her career with 1,157 career kills, ranking inside the top 10 in the Wichita State career record book. Kelly holds the record for the amount of kills in a 4-set match at 29, along with ranking second for amount of kills in a 5-set match at 29 as well. Kelly was a unanimous first team AAC All-Conference selection during the fall 2021 campaign before adding another first team all-conference honor in 2022. In fall of 2023, she became the first Wichita State volleyball player to be named AAC Preseason Player of the Year. Coming to a close, in her final season while battling injury, she helped the Shockers post a 26-8 record and claim the NIVC Championship title.
Also a standout in the classroom, Kelly was a five-time member of the AAC All-Academic Team throughout her six years as a student-athlete. Along with being on the AAC Academic Team, Kelly was on AD Honor Roll each semester.
Kelly graduated from Wichita State in May 2022 with a bachelor’s degree in business administration management and human resource management. In Dec. 2023, she earned her Master of Business Administration degree from WSU.
Assistant Coach Kimberly DeBoer
"We are thrilled to welcome Kimberly “Kimbo” DeBoer as our new assistant coach. Her energy, knowledge of the game, and dedication to player development will play a crucial role in supporting our program’s growth. We’re confident that she will make a positive impact on our team, bringing a fresh perspective and contributing to the success of our athletes both on the court and in their personal development."
Kimberly joined Coach Johnson's staff in March of 2025.
Coach DeBoer joined the Lancers program after a very successful four-year playing career at San Francisco State. DeBoer was instrumental in guiding the Gators to the DII National Championship game where they were the runners-up.
DeBoer was named AVCA All-American Second Team and AVCA and D2CCA All-West Region First Team, 3x CCAA Setter of the Year, 3x All-CCAA First-Team, NCAA Championship All-Tournament Team, CSC Academic All-American Second Team during her senior season. DeBoer was the first player in program history to be named AVCA All-American Second Team, while playing in all 123 sets. DeBoer set the Gators new single-season record for assists in 2024 with 1,392 and finished her career with over 4,000 career assists. In 2023 she earned AVCA All-American Honorable Mention as well.
At SF State, DeBoer was also involved in the Student Athlete Advisory Committee with the role of President for three years. DeBoer was a recipient of the DII 50th Anniversary Scholarship and helped SF State SAAC earn the CCAA Community Service award two years in a row. The executive board also worked to create a Mental Wellness Campaign to promote awareness of mental health and wellness within the community. DeBoer was honored with the Gator Student Leadership Award from Student Life which recognized community engagement on campus. Since 2020, she also has been working with various volleyball clubs coaching teams and running clinics.
Prior to her career at SF State, DeBoer played high school volleyball at Murrieta Valley HS where she was the Press Enterprise Player of the Year in 2019, the CIF Southwestern League MVP, among many other accolades.
