Cowbridge Lower School Newsletter 24.01.25

Cowbridge Lower School wish everyone 'Dydd Santes Dwynwen Hapus' in readiness for tomorrow, we have all enjoyed learning about Wales' very own version of St Valentine's Day!

It's been a wild and windy week around Lower School this week! We have watching all the different weathers happening outside!

Nursery have been feeling the love with lots of heart pattern making and talking about who they care about and why. They are such a caring class!

They have also been continuing to learn about Winter and finding icy puddles in their outdoor area, which they made themselves! They went on a welly walk to find things linked to Winter on a scavenger hunt.

Reception have been thinking about who they love and why. They went over to the 'big school' to make some special heart biscuits with our Health and Social care team and Mrs Mead. Blasus iawn!

Reception have also enjoyed carrying on their learning of Winter. They added a sledge and snow sandals to their role play area. They also designed scarves using repeating patterns of 3 or 4 colours.

Year 1 have been learning about the Riverside Market this week, which takes place in Cardiff every Sunday morning. They have been trying to recognise coins, beat Pom to say which coin they can see and played coin collector games. They also wrote a list of the different stalls you can have in a Farmers Market and talked about the Farmers Market that happens in Cowbridge every Saturday morning. Mr Metcalf helped the class make a giant Castle for the book area! Diolch Mr Metcalf!

They been also learning about the Welsh artist 'Rhiannon Roberts', they looked carefully at her paintings and tried to replicate them. These are going to be for their Eisteddfod competition entries, so they came up with secret Eisteddfod names to go on the display!

Wishing everyone a fun and safe weekend 🙂💨🍃
