One of the most rewarding aspects of my job is the opportunity to meet new people at the happiest moments of their lives. Witnessing the sheer excitement in a bride's eyes as she envisions her dream wedding coming to life is truly heartwarming. Likewise, observing the groom, filled with pride and embarking on a new life journey, is a touching experience that tugs at my heartstrings. It's during these moments that I have the privilege of listening to my clients share their visions and dreams for their special day.
My journey in the world of weddings began with a major in fashion design back in 2000 at the Illinois Institute of Art in Chicago. This is where my passion for beauty, style, and design was not just cultivated but refined. It provided me with a solid foundation in aesthetics, which I've since integrated into my work as a wedding planner.
Becoming a certified wedding planner was a pivotal step in my career. It equipped me with the skills and knowledge necessary to navigate the intricacies of wedding planning. From foreseeing potential challenges early in the planning process to scrutinizing contracts to ensure my clients' best interests, I've honed my abilities to save couples money, execute weddings with precision, and provide comprehensive guidance.

Want to start by saying this review is long overdue! Abimbola and I wed on February 25, 2023 in Cancun, MX.Simply put, Elana is amazing. She was referred to us by another couple that was planning a wedding. Choosing Elana Walker as our wedding coordinator is by far one of the best decisions we made. She is the “Goat” of the wedding industry. Our wedding was perfect because of Elana and her staff. She told me early on that it would be a beautiful wedding. It was a well executed production from start to finish with a-lot of moving parts that occurred on Nov 4th 2023.
We trusted her decision making skills, ideas and suggestions. It was a dream come true. It was like a hallmark movie in my eyes when I look at all the footage that Im getting from friends and family.
There was so much love in the room. It is so important to do your homework before picking an event planner. As the couple it is also important to discuss what you are looking for in a planner as well to make it easier on the both of you.
Elana was “my person” and of course Jeffs as well lol. He would be like l need to ask Elana about this seating chart.. and I would say “Jeff it is 1230 am the women is sleep!”Lol. She was so available to our questions and or concerns we would forget about the time as she has family as well.
Elana was down to earth, professional, always had our best interest and kept it 100 with us. She will help you stay on budget and will never made any decisions without your input. I had a vision and she helped execute it.
During the last month of planning my husband was involved. I know most men are not involved but him and Elana had that type of relationship. I would be on the calls while at work and he would help with the decision making.
If you would like an event planner that will perfect your vision she is the one. Her professionalism is top tier. My wedding party was large. It was a total of 30 people including the hostess. She handled it like “G”. The wedding party and my guest are still talking about my wedding and how well it was executed. It was flawless.
Her personality is everything. She is genuine, warm, funny, easy to work with, serious when she needs to be but will always have your best interest at heart.

Q: HOW LONG HAVE YOU BEEN IN BUSINESS?
A: I began my entrepreneurial journey as a wedding planner in 2009. I was working for a dead end job and I needed to make extra money. I soon realized that this could be a full time career and I grew from there. I left my day job in 2013 and never looked back.
Q: WHAT QUALIFIES YOU TO PLAN WEDDINGS?
A: Early on I decided to obtain my certification in wedding planning. This taught me the proper way to plan weddings by learning how to select vendors, review contracts and so much more. 9 years later and after countless weddings, I have won Best of The Knot from 2013 – 2017 and was recently inducted into The Knot’s Hall of Fame. From 2012 – 2017, I won Wedding Wire’s Couples Choice Award. In 2016 I won Event of the Year at the International Live Events Association Trinity Awards and in 2016 & 2017 I won Best Wedding of a 75k budget of higher. In addition, both NBC & CBS affiliate stations have called upon my expertise and was featured on the morning news as well as a show called, My Carolina Today.

Q: MY VENUE HAS A COORDINATOR. DO I REALLY NEED YOU?
A: Absolutely! While the venue may have someone who acts in a dual role of site coordinator and wedding coordinator, their first priority will always be their venue. As your planner or coordinator, you are our very first priority and will always act in your best interest, unbiasedly.

A: Elana Walker leads all full planning wedding planning, design and day of production.
Q: HOW DO I GET STARTED?
A: Let’s set up a time to chat further. I love getting to know new people and listening to their wedding day dreams. If we are a good fit for one another, you pay a 40% retainer for full planning or a 50% for event management after signing the contract and then we go from there!
Q: HOW DOES THE PAYMENTS PROCESS WORK?
A: After you pay your retainer, we will create a payment plan that will be automatically drafted from your account either on the 1st or the 15th (you choose).

A: I will reach out right away with a welcome letter and our next steps. I will begin working on your planning tools and compiling your first referral list to share with you with in the first 7 days post retainer.
