Last month we celebrated our BASD Bus Drivers during National Bus Drivers Day! Here's Mr. Bob's story - 'Why We Drive.'
The kids - it’s all about the kids! You see, five years ago I lost my son in a tragic accident and I had no more will to do anything. My wife works in the school system and after a year or so suggested that I should think about applying to be a bus driver since being around children could be a joy as well as offer comfort. I can’t begin to tell you how thankful I am to have made the decision to become a bus driver for BASD. These kids brought me back to life and surrounded me with joy! I have a lot to be grateful for and it’s all about these children. They don’t even know what they’re doing for me; they have made my life more enjoyable again and a wonderful reason to come to work. I get up each morning to see them and a great new day starts all over again. Thank you, Mr. Bob, for the love and dedication you bring to BASD students each day!
