'methodactor' is the moniker of songwriter and producer Edward O'Mahony.
Influenced by R'n'B, pop, hip-hop and DIY music production, O'Mahony's music is a deeply personal portrait of an artist set against genre-bending and evolving production. His debut EP 'A Fool's Errand' comes out September 12th. The release will be accompanied by a Dublin listening party on September 10th along with a full band show in Dun Laoghaire, Dublin on October 24th.

Bio
The solo project of composer/producer Edward O’Mahony, was created in bedrooms and home studios while in between projects over the last number of years. His music is a mix of danceable hiphop and R'n'B underneath honest, introspective lyrics and ear-worm melodies or what he has dubbed ‘Sadboy Pop’.
Methodactor’s debut EP A Fool’s Errand is due for release in September of this year. Recorded and produced entirely by O'Mahony, the album is both a soundtrack to the mind of an anxiety ridden artist as well as an energetic pop record with a strong emotional catharsis.
The first single, I wanna cry was released in February of this year accompanied by a self-directed video shot by longtime collaborator Alba Fernandez. The song received praise across the Irish scene, getting mentions in Hot Press, Golden Plec, Genuine Irish and Starfish magazine. While also getting radio play on RTE 2fm, Pulse, 2XM and on Tilt on Dublin City FM. This was followed by a co-headline show with Leah Rose in Crowbar Terrace at the end of February.
Having previously performed in bands for many years previous to the pandemic, Edward has spent the last few years working as a composer for film and as a producer and writer for other artists. He has worked on a number of acclaimed Irish shorts as a composer most recently on the Galway Film Fleadh premiering shorts 'For the Cure' and 'Bunker Baby' the latter of which's soundtrack is available HERE. He has also worked as a writer and producer for artists like Leah Rose and Orla Monelle.
