Our Amazing World 🌍

In geography, we've been thinking all about how amazing our world is and the children had lots to share regarding what was important to them. We revisited the four countries that make up the UK: England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland and chatted about what makes each one unique. From mountains, cities and coastlines, the children loved discovering the different characteristics you can find across the UK.

The children also loved taking their geography learning outdoors this week, using their surroundings to spot and sort human and physical features.

The children used an atlas to find the seven continents, learning where each continent sits in relation to the others. They also took on the challenge of identifying the surrounding oceans, and quickly got to grips with this. Reading the atlas was tricky but they handled it really well.

In P.E. this week, the children took part in a range of different games that got them moving, thinking, and working as a team. They listened carefully to instructions and followed them as they tried out a variety of activities. Afterwards, they spent some time talking about how their bodies felt before and after exercise. They noticed how their heartbeats changed, how their breathing got faster, during exercising and how their muscles felt afterwards .

Well done Year 2 for another great week! ☺️
