Light Painting Retreat: Nevada March 21-24, 2025

Lets get creative

Join us on an epic 3 night light painting adventure through Nevada. We will be shooting at the Nelson Ghost Town, a El Dorado dry lake bed and even on the Vegas Strip. You will learn different light painting techniques and tricks. We will supply the models and light painting tools, we just ask you to bring your creativity.

We will start our lessons before it gets dark, anticipating the blue hr and starry night. We will have different sets ups for each student to create their own scene as they learn to perfect their technique.

Book your flight

Closest Airport is McCarran International Airport in Las Vegas and we recommend your flight arrives before 12 pm so that you can get your luggage and make your way to Boulder City ( 40mins) By 3pm

Hotels

Recommended Hotel for first 2 nights is Best Western Hoover Dam Address: 704 Nevada Hwy, Boulder City, NV 89005 Phone: (702) 826-4300

The last night we will be near Fremont Street. So any hotel near by or The Strat.

Transportation

Everything is relatively close to each other with Las Vegas to Boulder City being the longest at 40mins. If you are looking to ride share with another student let us know and we can see about accommodating you.

LAS VEGAS CAR RENTAL TIPS: We recommend renting from Enterprise, Budget or Sixt rental companies. Also if you have Costco membership they offer great car rental deals from their website.

Another tip is if you have the time and don’t mind being inconvenienced, use a rental company not at the airport. Yes it will be more of a hassle that will include an extra uber/lyft ride but I have saved a $100 by going to the Enterprise on W.Sahara road that is 12 mins away from the airport.

Meals

We will be eating an early dinner together so we recommend picking up your favorite snacks and drinks for those late night munchies. There are supermarkets in Las Vegas or Boulder city. Here are some grocery store options that are near the airport:

  • Smith’s: 8108 S Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas
  • Whole Foods: 6689 Las Vegas Blvd, Las Vegas
