A note from Mr Higginbottom

Hello! Hopefully you will actually see this newsletter after a few technical problems - sorry about that! We're just back from the key stage 2 Christmas concert and that, after some fabulous EYFS/KS1 Nativity performances, the panto and Christmas lunch, leaves us all feeling ready for Christmas. Just another 4 school days to go before that, though - we're looking forward to parties, our Christmas fair and special attendance prizes next week. Remember that we finish for the Christmas break on Thursday 21st December at 3:15 and re-open on Monday 8th January 2024.

Events this week
It's been the week of Nativity performances and all our children have done a fantastic job! We're all very proud of their hard work!
Children in Music and Drama attended the Christmas Light Switch on at St Margaret's and were a credit to us as usual!
After his amazing fundraising earlier in the year for his mum after her cancer diagnosis and treatment, Finley was visited this week by Radio Sheffield's Santa Squad who brought him a few early Christmas gifts.
We had a visit from M&M's production of Robin Hood which everyone enjoyed!
Online Safety

This week our Internet Safety Guide from the National College focusses on Top tips for a tech-free Christmas. Don't forget that you can talk to us if you're worried about your child's time online.

Attendance expectations
Uniform Expectations

Please support your children by ensuring they are following the required uniform expectations, including on PE days. Children should be dressed in a yellow or black polo shirt and black trousers, skirt, shorts or plain black leggings. Yellow gingham dresses may also be worn. Black cardigans or hoodies can be worn with or without the school logo. For PE, children need their white school PE top or plain white T-shirt and black shorts or tracksuit bottoms. No football shirts please. Please may we remind you to label your child's uniform with their name.

Term Dates
Have a lovely weekend

Thank you for your continued support of our school and for supporting your child by ensuring they're at school on time and they read at least 4 times each week. If you would like to discuss any aspect of your child's time in school you can email enquiries@sqp.wwpat.org, find me on ClassDojo or chat to me at the start or end of the school day.

At Swinton Queen Primary School, children are aspirational, courageous and inquisitive; respectful of all.
