HPSS Foundation Scholarship Sponsored by Academy Sports and Outdoors: 5-$1000 scholarships will be awarded to students who meet all eligibility requirements.

TigerFit Agnes Boyd Scholarship: 6-$500 scholarships will be awarded for the Fall 2024 semester only. In addition to meeting all requirements listed below, applicants for this scholarship must be members of TigerFit and have completed a minimum of 5 service hours during the Fall 2023 semester. Preference will be given to applicants who exceed this minimum requirement.

Scholarship Eligibility: Applicants must be full-time students registered for a minimum of 12 credit hours for the F2024 semester, have a minimum GPA of 3.2 (validated via transcript submission), be a declared major in the HPSS department, and must have completed a minimum of 30 credit hours at TSU (validated via transcript submission).

Donor Preferences: As these scholarships are funded by private donors, they have the option to suggest additional preferences for awardee selection. Not meeting these criteria DOES NOT make anyone ineligible to receive a foundation scholarship. However, preference may be given to applicants who meet certain criteria. For the TaylorMade HPSS Foundation Scholarship, preference may be given to applicants who graduated from a high school in the Metro Nashville School District. Additionally, preference may be given to applicants who are active members of TigerFit, the department majors club.

Application Deadline and Details: HPSS Foundation Scholarship applications will reopen starting in January 2025. Check back in November of 2024 for updates.

During the application process, you will be asked to submit a copy of your entire (all semesters and credits earned from TSU and all other institutions) unofficial transcript. A step-by-step tutorial on completing this process has been provided here. Please have this document ready for upload as a .pdf file before starting the application. You will also be asked to submit a 1-page Cover Letter explaining why the scholarship committee should select you as a recipient. Please have this letter constructed and ready to upload as a .doc, .docx, or .pdf file before starting the application. Failure to submit files in requested file types will make an application ineligible for review.

A .pdf copy of your unofficial transcripts can be obtained in 2 ways. You can request a digital copy for free from the university, https://www.tnstate.edu/records/transcripts.aspx. Or you can obtain them on your own by logging into myTSU, navigating to student records, and selecting academic transcript. Once there right-click on the page and select the print option. In the print setup menu navigate to destination. Instead of sending the job to a printer, select save as pdf or print to pdf. This will allow you to convert your unofficial transcript into a saveable .pdf file. Save that file somewhere on your device and use this file to upload to your scholarship application.
