On 16 January, Design Bureau, in collaboration with the Icherisheher State Historical-Architectural Reserve Administration, will host a new Design Fridays session at Baku Photo House, inviting architects and urban thinkers to revisit one of the city’s most emblematic spaces: Baku Boulevard. Led by architects Ali Mammadov and Najiba Alyarbayova, the session proposes a shift in perspective—from a scenic coastal promenade to a fully functional recreation zone that better responds to contemporary urban life. Through dialogue and collaborative exploration, participants will reflect on how design, ecology, mobility and everyday use can coexist along the waterfront. With 12–15 participants planned, the event is designed as an intimate, hands-on exchange of ideas, fostering critical thinking and practical insight. The workshop was announced in advance through Design Bureau’s Instagram, continuing its commitment to engaging the local design community and stimulating informed urban debate.
