Opened on October 14th, 2022 with the inaugural Platte River Rumble. Located at Mahoney State Park in Ashland, Nebraska, the 690 acre State Park nestled along the picturesque Platte River. A short 25 minute drive southwest of Omaha on I80 and a 30 minute drive northeast of Lincoln, Nebraska on I80. Since its inception, the course has been host to seven collegiate races from the Platte River Rumble series to the NAIA GPAC Conference Championships. Also hosting the High School & Middle School Platte River Rumble series since the fall of 2023.

Omaha is rolling out the Blue & Red carpet for cross country this fall, as we proudly host both the Big East and Summit League Cross Country Championships, along with the Platte River Rumble College and High School series. It's an exciting time for cross country in our city, and we couldn't be more thrilled to welcome you!

Creighton University and the University of Nebraska Omaha are honored to host the 2025 Big East Cross Country Championships and the 2025 Summit League Cross Country Championship at Mahoney State Park on October 31st and November 1st.

Known as the home of the NCAA College World Series each summer and a frequent host of the NCAA Men's Basketball Tournament and the NCAA Women's Volleyball Final Four, Omaha is excited to showcase our city and all it has to offer.

Eppley Airfield (OMA), just minutes from downtown, Creighton University, and Nebraska Omaha University provides direct flights to Chicago, Washington, D.C., New York, & Philadelphia. With over 15,000 hotel rooms throughout the metro area, you'll find a variety of lodging options to fit your needs. Here are three key areas to consider, depending on what kind of experience and amenities you are seeking:

DOWNTOWN/OLD MARKET

Just minutes from the airport and Creighton's campus, downtown Omaha offers a wide range of hotels, from major national brands to boutique options. Dining is top-notch, with an abundance of local restaurants to explore. This area is about a 30-35 minute drive to the course, depending on where you're staying.

MID-TOWN/AKSARBEN

Located about 15 minutes from the airport and just a few minutes from the University of Nebraska Omaha, this area is roughly 25-30 minutes from the course. It features a variety of hotel options from national brands and a mix of local and chain dining spots, making it both convenient and comfortable.

LAVISTA CONFERENCE AREA

Just 25 minutes from the airport and 20 minutes from the course, the LaVista Conference area offers a variety of hotels and dining options within easy reach.
