Today was a great day for cycling with a mix of seaside, lakes and forests and a mostly flat and smooth path making for an easy ride… or are we getting fitter?
We enjoyed an impromptu stop by the lake where we opted for a hot chocolate over a coffee… (say no more)
This part of France is obviously where a lot choose to holiday with plenty of caravan parks along the lakes and holiday homes taking advantage of both lakes and beaches.
We chose our lunch spot by the beach with only another 15km before we reached our beachside destination. The last 15km was a very enjoyable ride through attractive pine forests accompanied by birds singing and the smell of fresh pine in the warm air!
By mid afternoon we had arrived at this unique beachside village that seems to have a Mexican feel (not that we’ve been to Mexico!) Sand is known to cover the streets which get scraped up and deposited back on the beaches.
We made the most of the warm weather and had a snooze on the beach followed by a short walk before dinner at the Beachside Cafe.watching the sun set over the ocean capping off a very enjoyable day!
