Cuban-American born & raised in Miami, It is hard to put La Goony Chonga in a box. In her childhood, Goony always loved writing poems and even had a composition book of songs. She grew up participating in theatre programs, competitive dance teams and even did some modeling. Her "chonga" aesthetic stems from her early teen years in Miami during the mid 2000s where latina fashion statements such as gelled hair, baby hairs, lipliner, big hoop earrings and colorful tight clothing was a common theme. So what is "La Goony Chonga"? In Goony's words, goony is the attitude and chonga is the lifestyle. The name is a reminder of who she is and where she comes from. Since the beginning of her career, she has heavily drawn influence from her love of the rap and latin culture around her. Always fine tuning her own unique style, she loves to blend genres of trap, reggaeton and electronic music.
