After making MVC history as the third program to earn both indoor and outdoor champion team titles for both the men and the women in 2024, the Indiana State Sycamores claim both top spots among the coaches in the 2025 polls. The Sycamores men claimed nine first-place votes with coaches for 99 total points. The women earned ten first-place votes in the polls with 140 total points. Murray State and Illinois State earn the second-place spots in the polls with the Racer Women earning 128 points with two first-place votes and the Redbird men claiming 85 points with the coaches. In narrow third-place margins, the Redbird women tallied 123 points behind the Racers and the Northern Iowa men tallied 84 points with one first place vote, one point behind the Redbird men.
Belmont
At the 2024 MVC Indoor Championships, the Bruins finished fourth for the women with 85 points and 37.5 points for the men for a seventh-place finish. The Bruin men claimed three all-conference honors at last year's championship in the 400m, 3000m, and 5000m. Carter Cheeseman claimed the Bruins individual champion title in the men’s 5000m with a time of 14:16.13. The women earned nine all-conference honors at the 2024 MVC Indoor Championship in the 800m, Mile, 5000m, Distance Medley Relay, Weight Throw, Shot Put, and Pole Vault. Rebekah Stucker and Logan Gray secured the top two spots in the throws alongside the distance squad’s dominance to push the Bruins to a top five team finish.
Bradley
The Braves open competition on December 14th at the Jimmy Grant Invitational hosted by the University of Iowa. At the 2024 MVC Indoor Championships, the Braves’ finished sixth as a team for the men with 49 points and fifth on the women’s side with 69 points. The men finished with four all-conference honorees in the 800m, Mile, and 3000m. Jack Crull led the Braves with two runner-up finishes in the 800m and mile with times of 1:53.26 and 4:08.37, respectively. The women claimed six all-conference honors with three champion titles in the Distance Medley Relay, 800m, and Mile. The Braves reset the MVC Championship Record in the Distance Medley Relay with a time of 11:30.72 by Kaitlyn Sheppard, Amiyah Davis, Lena Stolla, and Trixie Wraith.
DRAKE
At the 2024 MVC Indoor Championships, the Bulldogs finished fourth in the men with 68 points and eighth in the women with 48 points. The men claimed five all-conference honors across four events with three champion titles in the Mile, Distance Medley Relay, and weight throw. All-American Anthony Barmes led the Bulldogs in the weight throw with a first-place finishing toss of 21.11m alongside teammate Adam Phillips’ runner-up toss of 20.87m. The Bulldog women finished the 2024 Indoor Championship with two championships titles in the 3000m and 5000m alongside 8 top 8 finishes in the 800m, mile, 3000m, 5000m, and Weight Throw.
EVANSVILLE
The Purple Aces finished tenth for both the Men and Women in the 2024 MVC Indoor Championships with the women earning six points and the men earning two points. The Aces earned seventh in the men’s Distance Medley Relay with a time of 10:18.77 alongside two other top-ten finishes in the Weight Throw and 800m. The women claimed seventh in the 800m and fifth in the Distance Medley Relay with a time of 12:03.05 set by Kalina Urbaniak, Nayla Martin, Eilen Brenne, and Nicole Prauchner.
UIC
he Flames open competition on December 6th at the GVSU Holiday Open hosted by Grand Valley State University. At the 2024 MVC Indoor Championships, the Flames men finished ninth with eight points and the women finished twelfth. The Flames men finished sixth in the 4x400m Relay, eighth in the Distance Medley Relay, and sixth and eighth in the long jump. In the 4x400m Relay, the Flames marked a time of 3:23.01 by Paul Sackman, Rouen Marv Quinones, Jackson Irby, and Sacrad Michelin. The women finished the meet with a tenth-place time of 4:00.00 in the 4x400m alongside two top 15 finishes in the Long Jump and Triple Jump by Makaya Phillips and Ava Maglaya, respectively.
ILLINOIS STATE
The Redbirds host the John Coughlan Invite and Multi on December 6th and 7th to open their 2025 season. In the 2024 MVC Indoor Championships, the Redbird men finished second with 116.5 points with four MVC individual champions in the Heptathlon, 60m Hurdles, 400m, and 3000m. The Redbirds also claimed 10 all-conference honors in the weight throw, shot put, pole vault, Distance Medley Relay, and 4x400m. The Redbirds finished third in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:13.74 set by Caleb-Emmanu Lerus, Jaiden Reed, Enyinnaya Nwagwu, and Raydoffa Braziel. The Redbird women took third at the 2024 MVC Indoor Championships with 94 points with three individual champions in the Shot Put, Pole Vault, and Triple Jump. The Redbirds claimed a total of six all-conference including the top three spots in the 60m and Long Jump. Windsor Roberts took first in the Pole Vault for the Redbirds with a height of 4.09m.
INDIANA STATE
The Sycamores open competition on December 13th at the Blue Demon Holiday Invite hosted by DePaul. At the MVC Indoor Championships in 2024, Indiana State claimed the top spots with 183.5 points for the men and 121 points for the women. The Sycamore men claimed 16 all-conference honors across twelve of the seventeen events, with five individual champions in the Pole Vault, Long Jump, Triple Jump, High Jump, and 60m. All-American Will Staggs represented the Sycamores and the conference at the 2024 NCAA National Championships in the Pole Vault after marking a height of 5.52m at the Tyson Invitational in early February 2024. The Sycamore women claimed 10 all-conference honors across ten events, with individual champions in the 60m Hurdles and weight throw. Niesha Anderson led the Sycamores in the throws with her top throw in the Weight with a mark of 21.40m and her fifth-place finish in the shot put with a mark of 14.15m.
MISSOURI STATE
The Bears head to Pittsburg, Kansas to open their season at the Crimson and Gold Invitational on December 6th and 7th. The Bears finished ninth in the 2024 MVC Indoor Championships with 16 points as a team and eight top-ten finishes across six events. In the 4x400m Relay, the Bears finished sixth with a time of 3:51.53 set by Olivia Rogers, Victory Ifah, Seleena Morris, and Whitney Farrington. Olivia Rogers also led the Bears in the 60m dash after finishing fourth with a time of 7.60.
MURRAY STATE
The Racers open their season at the Saluki Fast Start hosted by Southern Illinois University on December 7th. The Racers finished as the women’s runner-up in the 2024 MVC Championships with 113 points as a team. The Racers marked 10 all-conference honors with five individual champions in the 60m, 400m, 4x400m relay, high jump, and long jump. The Racers claimed the 4x400m Relay title with a time of 3:40.50 set by Chelby Melvin, Anouk Krause-Jentsch, Simone Joseph, and Kayla Bell. The Racers also return All-American and Olympic Trials qualifier Chelby Melvin who also finished fifth in the 60m Hurdles.
NORTHERN IOWA
The Panthers open their season on December 13th and 14th at the ISU Holiday Invite, hosted by Iowa State University. The Panther men finished third in the 2024 Championships with 109 points and the women finished sixth as a team with 55 points. The men finished with six all-conference honors with Spencer Kessel claiming the individual title in the shot put with a mark of 18.24m. The Panthers also claimed runner-up honors in the Heptathlon, Pole Vault, Distance Medley Relay, 4x400m, 800m, and 200m. The women claimed four all-conference honors across four events, with Katy Stephens earning the individual champion title in the Pentathlon with a score of 3692.
SOUTHERN ILLINOIS
The Salukis host the Saluki Fast Start on December 7th to open their 2025 season. At the 2024 MVC Indoor Championships, the Saluki men finished fifth as a team with 66.5 points and the women finished seventh with 54 points. The men earned six all-conference honors across four events with champions in the 4x400m and 200m. In the 200m Xavier Preston set a time of 20.98 narrowly missing the MVC Championships Record and the 4x400m relay marked a champion time of 3:12.51 resetting the MVC Championship Record. The women earned four all-conference honors with Iaunia Pointer earning the individual champion title in the 200m with a time of 23.59. The Salukis also earned runner-up honors in the 4x400m relay with a time of 3:45.30 set by Vashti Grey, Teanna Bell, Leah Thames, and Iaunia Pointer.
VALPARAISO
The Beacons open their season on December 6th at the Blue-Gold Invite hosted by Notre Dame and the John Coughlan Invite and Multi hosted by Illinois State. The Beacons finished eighth for the men with 21 points and eleventh for the women. The men earned two all-conference honors by Micah Mullings in the Long Jump and Triple Jump, marking distances of 7.39m and 14.39m respectively. In addition, the Beacons earned eight top-ten finishes in the 3000m, 5000m, 4x400m Relay, High Jump, and Heptathlon. The women earned one top ten finish in the weight throw paired with six top 20 finishes.
